Need some expert shaft advice! Something similar to NS Modus Pro 3

My current shafts are Nippon Modus 3 (105g) stiff. I like them for the most part but I feel like they have just a little too much spin/ trajectory. So I am looking for recommendations for something similar with slightly lower spin/trajectory.

Dg 105 is going to have a stiffer tip throughout, I’d start here if you like the weight and would recommend the R

Modus 115 and 125 are built on the same profile as Modus 105, just at heavier weights. The 105/115/125 profiles are largely derivatives of the Dynamic Gold profile, so you could look at DG105, DG120, standard Dynamic Gold, or if you want something a bit more user friendly you could try the Mid 100/115/Tour or AMT White.

I went with the Modus 105 X soft-stepped, because the stiff seemed a little soft to flex. Might be worth a look if you like the profile.

Worth noting the Modus 105 is about a flex softer than same flex rating DG.  The Modus 125 is close to DG (maybe a step softer?).  Unsure about the 115.

Fair bit of difference in tip and butt stiffness though

Might not really matter.   If the 105's really are a good fit for weight (based on things like dispersion and accuracy and even the weight feel) then you shouldn't even be considering changing shaft weight.  That's generally WAY more important for a good fit than the stiffness profile or the marketed "launch characteristics" of a shaft  (which BTW frequently don't match with the reality of what they'll do).

 

If you really just want to tweak the launch and spin a little bit lower, it's much more effective to do that by bending the lofts a little stronger.  Trying to chase down launch and spin with a shaft changes might work - or it might end up as a wild goose chase.

How have these been working out for you? Any issue with the tip being to soft? Thx
