Shaft similar to Diamana BB?

I have this shaft in SR flex and it’s just perfect for my tweener swing speed. I’d like to pop one in my new seven wood but don’t want to spend $360 or whatever. Any suggestions?

Diamana BF, Kai’li Blue or even Tensei Pro Blue (First Gen) could work and be more cost effective.

Diamana BF will be the closest feel wise, IMO from the testing I've done.  Tensei pro blue will be similar to but not quite as smooth, IMO.  Launch/spin wise they will all be in a similar window.

Hi @phizzy30, with the similar launch/spin window, any of the ventus line red/blue or Tour AD/previous diamana models would you say is the most similar feel wise to the 2024 diamana BB?

Looking for a driver shaft that has a similar feel and profile to 2024 diamana BB, appreciate your feedback, thanks!

Diamana TB/BF will feel similar.  Velo+ red is close but not as smooth.  AD CQ is the closest, feel wise with a touch more kick while HD/GC are closest in terms of EI profile without as much kick as the BB.

Thanks for the response, also wanted to ask,

Feel wise, how is the 2024 Diamana BB different from the WB version?

Because the 2024 Diamana WB felt quite loose/not stiff for a low/low shaft.

It's a ball speed monster but it has more of kick/bend/load compared to the WB, IMO.  It feels softer overall than the WB due to the softer mid and handle.

did you go 73tx?

63TX this time around as I wanted to focus on pure ball speed.  It's definitely gotta wider dispersion pattern than the VF, however, 2-5 mph more ball speed is crazy.  I've been putting tape on the sole to find the right feel.......

So in conclusion after extensive testing, the new Diamana BB while linear in profile, does have a bit of bend/load in the mid but nothing excessive and feels ultra smooth.  It's definitely more stable than the OG and has a bit of pop to it(ball speed).  I'd also like to add that the closest iron shaft in feel would be the KBS Tour.

i have a wb and I don’t love it.

im hitting much more down on the ball (0-2 + aoa) this year and it has opened up a whole world of shaft options.

Sweet.  If you can get used to the little bit of kick, I'm sure you'll see the jump in ball speed.

How would you compare the BB to the GT? Have generally played whiteboards but recently tried an Aldila silver 130 60TX and want to try some other  stiff handle shafts that have kick and bring some speed. Considering the accra RPG gold, GT and BB?

GT = Average ball speed but more stable.  Feels more linear

BB = Crazy fast ball speeds but a wider dispersion pattern more so left.  Has a touch of kick in the mid that isn't excessive. I think you'll like it though as I saw a big jump in ball speed.  My head and assistant pro have them in an Elyte TD/Qi35 LS and they absolutely love it.

BB isn't handle soft but it's not crazy stiff either.  I'd compared the handle to the AD VF.  GT and RPG golf have really stiff handles.  I saw average ball speeds as well with RPG gold.  You might wanna try the Diamana RB.  I didn't have an LM available with me but the thing has a decent amount of kick if that's your thing.  Can't comment on ball speeds but it definitely wasn't short, carry wise.

Hi, I ended up getting the Diamana WB in a lighter weight as I felt it being more stable.

I know this thread is about driver shafts, however how would you compare MMT iron shafts to KBS Tour?

And how are you liking the MMT iron shafts so far, as I am planning to change into them soon.

I read in other threads that there is no kick in MMT, is it true?

EI profile, grip to tip:

MMT = med+/stiff/stiff

KBS Tour = stiff/stiff/med

KBS Tour has some kick in the lower-mid whereas the MMT has very subtle kick that you may not even feel right under the handle.  I've had the MMT for almost 5 years now and they mimic DG profile which is pretty much my MO in terms of profile I fit into.  While not the smoothest graphite shaft, they still have some feel to them.  They are stable enough for me but prone to the lefts when my swing is off or if my transition gets too quick and aggressive.

Pretty much polar opposite.  PD is true low/low and feels very linear.  If you do feel any bend/load, it's gonna be under the handle.  I myself really had to focus on it to feel it.  The EI chart says it's got a med handle, but it feels stiff.  It has some feel to it but it's like rebar compared to the BB.  I was hitting low bullet fades(9-11* launch) as it's pretty anti-left and stable.  It really comes alive the harder I swing as higher the flight and straighter the ball gets.  Even if you look at Xander's ball flight with driver you can see that it's a flatter trajectory and doesn't apex super high.  Ball speeds were on the low side of average.  The guys that love the PD are usually the ones that have an aggressive transition.
