IZ to TR Ventus Red?

Anyone switch from GDIZ to TR Ventus Red? Did you stay the same weight? Currently playing the IZ 5s in my driver, received a TR Red 6s for x-mas gift. Wondering if I should try the 5sTR. Went to the range with it yesterday and the feel, ball flight and distance is really good. Need to take it to the course to see how well it performs with dispersion.

Ball doesn't lie. Biggest difference is the weight of the shafts (there are others but keep it simple). Consider the tr 5s if the weight is the issue (too heavy).

Ventus TR shafts are feeling more stable at impact, the Graphite Design shafts are feeling more active during the swing. I like the Graphite Design feeling more than the Ventus Velocore feeling but both are great shafts. It depends on personal preference and Ball Flight.

I used to have an IZ 7 in my 5 wood, and thought it was ok for me, needed to be hit pretty hard to kick. I switched to TR red 7S and it feels stable but launches high easily based on one range session. Will need to play with it before confirming it’s better for me, but weight is the biggest difference for sure. TR’s are heavier within each class than even other Ventus’s, which are also heavier than GD in each weight class. I went to a Ventus Black 5S for my driver as a 6S is almost 70 grams.

I wouldn't change a thing about the TR Red 6s. But if you can afford another shaft, a TR Red 5S might be fun to try.

I have a TR Red 5R, a TR Red 5R2 (tipped 1"), and an original Velocore Red 5R. I haven't decided which I like the most, but I have a feeling I will be playing the original 5R. They are all good.

TR Red is going to be much stiller in the handle section. Just depends on how it works for you.

Currently have the IZ 7S in my 5 wood as well. I hardly ever game it since my confidence level is not as high as it should be. Put this way, I have a VF 7S in my AI Smoke Max 3 wood and have no worry about it off the tee or the deck. But the IZ 7S in my AI Smoke Max 5 wood I agree with you I feel like I have to swing harder to get my number.

Did you stick with the TR red in 5W?

LOL that's interesting. It's remarkable how we're all different.

I had 2 - IZ, hybrid & Driver; both are gone. Still have OR Red & TR Blue, 5, 6, and 7 series. I always felt most GD shafts were a bit loosey-goosey, while Ventus tended to be tighter, until I got my hands on Diamana GT.

No offense to the OP - but there are more and more ppl trying to compare the Fuji Ventus shafts to a Graphite Design shaft. Most GD shafts (aside from VF) are going to feel and play different than Ventus. The Ventus TR’s are really only comparable the VF. Hopefully this little P.S.A. can help anybody that reads it and saves them some time and possibly some $.

Did you stick with the TR red in 5W?

Switched back to the trusty Tensei blue 65 stock shaft, honestly nothing seems to beat it out despite it being lighter than traditional 5 woods. What works works, can’t fight it.
