Up to 10 rounds on a club is the official guide for "like new". You're going to get clubs that exceed expectations and be in the wrapper. You're going to get clubs at the bottom end of this range. I think more people have come to expect everything to exceed expectations.

 

But if you don't like it, return it.

Did you feel this clubs fits in the "like new" category?

No.  Not like new.  And they don't protect heads very well in shipment either, making them prone to marking from the cardboard.   Not a fan of CPO, as that is what you can get👎

Definitely not like new based on my past experiences with CPO.  The crown is the biggest issue in my view.

I was disappointed that it was thrown in an overrsized box with no headcover on it. I sent my trade to them with bubble wrap and headcovers. They were asking for extra protection when you send the trade but didn't reciprocate.

Exactly the worst is when they have the box with the inner support piece/flap of cardboard built in.  Great in theory, but if the head is unprotected and club loose, it's jamming up against that flap in transit, its a real problem.  I had to send two drivers back, the third was the same damn thing so I gave up👎

It doesn’t seem like new to me. Looks like 10+ rounds and zero care given. I wouldn’t accept it.

it used to be like that all the time when they were in austin

then they moved, and the only time I have gotten something from since they moved, the club was in a great, sturdy box, plastic was on the head, and the headcover was on.

 

Before that, like the last ten orders I got in "like new" were worse than what you got.  

Probably jinxed myself as I have a like new driver headed my way tomorrow

probably will be busted in half with the head sticking out of and envelope.

 

But yah, the CS is awesome.  They'll take it back no prob.  It does suck if you cant exchange it for a real like new one though.

might be easy to return but it's taking forever to process everything.  have a trade in and a return from dec 15 and they still haven't processed it and i don't have any money back.

Nope, I'd return it. That is not like new. I got a like new putter from CPO and it still had the wrapper on it. While I don't expect that, I would expect the club to not have marks on the crown. That looks terrible.

OP I agree, to me its not like new but I think that is  a bit biased on the number of like new I have gotten in wrappers (which years ago were 'outlet' condition, but I don't see that listed anymore). This could have been listed as very good. 

 

The flip side: say its rated as VG which is usually $20 or less difference in price then like new, so is it worth it for the hassle? You could get a $20 credit with a phone call instead. Your time is likely worth more then the drive to UPS store 😄

 

The mild scratches buff out easily on the clearcoat and you can return the crown to like new if you already have decent car car stuff at home, or buy a $10 bottle of a good product.

 

Given its a FW wood, if it was me, I would polish the crown and go hit it.

If that was sold here as like new and it arrived looking like that, there'd be a whole different forum in the DND section.

 

Careless unprotected shipping is what I've seen from them the last year.

My experience with CPO is they under promise and over deliver. This time, it’s the reverse. Return it.

well I got my like new driver today

mixed results.  I didn't jinx myself as much as I thought.

 

Came from the new place.  A nice sturdy box like last time, fair amount of packaging.  Doh, headcover thrown in box lol and club just hanging out in the box without it.  Had high hopes when I saw the box.

 

My like new driver has smudge marks and some top wear, but nothing awful. Sadly again, probably happened during shipping.

Was a smoking deal, so I'll hold onto it. I really don't get how hard can it be to make sure every club goes out WITH THE HEADCOVER ON.

bought a ton of stuff thru CPO over the years. Mostly great stuff with a few dudes mixed in. Call them and see what they can do to. They have typically taken care of me in the past on stuff like this.

Doesn't look "Like New" to me.  I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them over the years and, for the most part, have been very pleased with the advertised condition of the item I received. 

 

I recently ordered a Like New Ai Smoke Triple Diamond fairway, which still had plastic on it and included an original headcover.  Needless to say, I was very pleased when I received that club.  However, I also recently ordered a set of Rogue ST Pro irons which were advertised as Like New.  They came loose in the box without any protection - not even some paper to cushion them.  And, they had clearly been hit and were Very Good condition at best.  I ended up sending those back and am still waiting for my refund. 

Despite that, I will continue to order from them since my track record with them, other than a few occasions, has been good.

that's something I'd expect a WRX member to list on the classifieds here as "almost new" or "mint" with horrible photos. Mint was thrown around here a lot many years ago and they clearly didn't know the definition of mint.

This is the problem I'm currently seeing.  They state 7-10 business days to respond to an email... like really?   Its also 25 days to process the trade I sent them and up to 30 days to get a refund on my return which I have to pay for return shipping.  Not impressed....

CPO used to be completely awesome.  Like new items were still wrapped in plastic.  I recently ordered a driver in "like new" condition that had a paint smudge on the crown  (looked like somebody spilled acetone on it) and on the hosel there was a large  wear mark  (the paint was completely gone). It was the first time I had to return anything to them.

Ive Been using CPO for years and noticed a drop in quality especially since their warehouse move from Austin to DFW last year.  Ive noticed clubs just not packed properly with no wrapping whatsoever.

 

I would call and get some credit for future use.

Weird 

ive noticed the opposite since the move packaging wise.  Sturdy box, shipping material and even bigger half the time the head cover is actually on the club lol.  I swear most of the damage I see in like new is bc the clubs used to bang around with no headcover on but thrown in the box. 
 

Condition ratings are altogether different.  I’m now surprised if like new is anything but very good at best.  Like new used to be awesome, now it’s a total crapshoot. Returns used to be super easy but looks like it’s mega delayed since the move.  I really have cut down how much I have bought from them which is sad given how much I used to buy from them before.

last month I got a wood and a driving iron delivered in a box the size of a staff bag. The head wasnt covered and the wrapping paper was just laying at the bottom not even crunched up. Of course the wood head was marred.
