Cleveland RTZ Wedges! In-Hand Pics!

I have about 5 rounds on my RTZs, and do far I really enjoy them.  Very little adjustment coming from SM10.  Slightly more forgiving, a little more “lively” feel.  I am very pleased with the spin these produce.  The Mid grinds in the 54 and 58 really work well for me.

unreal....

 

I knew it was bad when they basically cut off their customer service department (section for ordering, ie, where they tell you the lead time on out of stock items).

I just looked at the Cleveland site and it shows the 60 adapter tour rack available to order. A lot of other lofts and grinds are greyed out and not avaliable.

Was it Cleveland direct or a store that said it was back ordered to Oct?

Must be a UK thing. We can't order direct with Cleveland or Srixon in Scotland as far as I know, so it's through a shop but built by the manufacturer. 

 

Ordered two weeks ago and was updated yesterday with the lead time. Can get 58 adapt apparently, just not a 60. Did a bit of searching around and some UK shops no longer list the 6p adapt as a custom option...and found one website with stock details.

Coming from 54.12 F and 60.04 T Vokeys which is a setup that works well for me.

 

I'm thinking a 54 Full with S grind for added versatility with the 54. I chip probably 60% with that club. As for the 60 should I go with the low grind? I'm intrigued by the adapt, but I do like having a really low bounce option in my bag and I don't know if there's a custom grind that would get me to effectively 4 bounce.

I would recommend the 60 low (6 bounce) coming from the T grind.  OR you can get the 62 low (6 bounce) and bend it to 60 degrees, effectively giving you 4 bounce.

no, you'd have to go with the satin.  They are out of most tour rack sizes anyways, including the 60 low.  have been for a while.  Inventory sucks.

I see. As for the 54 which is a full swing, bunker, and chipping club. Do I go Full with S grind or mid? Maybe the mid with heel relief since I like opening up the face?

I went from a longtime Vokey 54S to a RTZ 54 Mid with almost zero issues transitioning.  I play all the same shots with no adjustment.  I’m very impressed with these wedges.

The S grind on the Full sole is great. From a square position you have the wider sole for better turf interaction but the relief is there when the face is opened. The low grind would very similar to the T grind but if you want exactly 4* of bounce you can get the 62/6 low and have it bent to 60 and that would get you to 4*. In my opinion I don’t think you’ll notice much if any difference in your 60T and the 60 Low.

Hmm can I buy the tour rack and then take it to someone who can do the custom grind? Seems like a long wait otherwise.

Ordered three black wedges: 50 bent to 51, 56 and 60 bent to 61. All 1/2” short. All specs matched and delivered to my club in under 2 weeks even with the 4th of July.

Anyone have any preferences between the Raw and Satin?

 

I've played chrome in the past but don't like the glare + the sole tends to rust after the chrome wears down. I've heard the ZZ alloy won't rust.

I was super surprised with the lack of glare in the tour rack raw, I was not expecting to have almost a non existent glare from it.  This alone will lead me to never purchasing anything but a raw finish in the future.

Shortages on some heads in the UK for sure. I've got 2 of the 3 I ordered mid June.

It took 3 months to get all of mine. Ordered in March. 60 came first in April, 48 in May and just got the 54 at the end of June.

 

liking them so far but not quite as dialed as my 50, 54, 58 Vokey setup. 
 

the RTZ 60 low is deadly out of the sand, much better than the vokey 58. Just can’t quite dial the 48 and 54 like the vokeys.

 

head is a little bigger, really liked how compact the vokey heads were. Oh well, at least they’re custom and look great.

I have the Tour Raw in my 56 & 60 and have been playing them since spring.  They still look like the day I got them (minus a couple battle scars). No rust and I have played a few rain rounds with them.  I'm pretty good about drying out gear after.  But my Raw TM Hi-Toes had shown some rust.  These do not at all.

It was gonna be so long I just bought off the rack and had a local club builder put the grind I wanted on it. Essentially a mix between the S grind and the Vokey D grind on the 54.
