Callaway Elyte Ti Fairway Woods Info

Well, look what we have here. I grabbed a few out-of-use fairways from the garage, used the 50% bonus with Callaway, and figured I would order one of these.

Mind you, the Ai Smoke TD 3 wood that I am using now is fantastic. I use it mostly off the tee, but it is very straight and forgiving. If this Elyte Ti can somehow replace it, all the better.

Grabbed the Elyte TI with an MMT 70 S, as the MMT 60 S works very well for me in my Elyte TD Max driver. I always have my old reliable current Smoke Black to fall back on. Should see how this new one works soon.

Has anyone lofted up the 5w and used this as a hot 7w?

Fitted for 3w, hit all three heads.

In fittings, I mostly care about centered strike, shaft feel and ball flight.  I let fitter geek out on the numbers.

Ti head is the best looking to me.  Slightly taller than the core, but those horizontal lines make it look more squat.  Sits slightly open, like the TD.  Core face markings were too busy.

Ti had best ball speeds, I got 1.5 smash on a couple swings.  Ti is neutral/slight fade on the bias.  Very reminiscent of the UW bias. TD is fade bias.  Core is neutral/draw.  Ti gave me the push fade I like to play with longer clubs.

For me, this is my "hit it far, but shorter than driver club.".  I will hit it off deck and tee.  On a par 5, anywhere near the green in two is a good result in my book.  It should hopefully replace my thriver, which I can hit otd but it's kinda ugly.

I did this and love it.  Had the triple diamond 7wd but like this much better.  Play it at 20 deg

What are your distances for both the turned up 5W & TD 7W? As hot as the 3HL is for me, I'm concerned a turned up 5W is going to be significantly longer than my TD 7W. Not necessarily a bad thing, but then I'll be back trying to fill gaps.

Well first weekend with my Elyte Ti 3 wood and only got to hit it 3 times. Like most have said, ITS HOT!

It felt a little fade bias for me, so that threw me off a little but is a welcomed change from most 3 woods I have been playing that always seem draw bias. Love the fee/sound, very addicting to flush one. I still need to take it to the range and get better acquainted, but the first date went well. She is quite the looker.

I too just had my first weekend with the Elyte TI. Results were promising.

I used it with the MMT 70 S that I ordered it with, as opposed to the usual Smoke Black 70 that I use in my Ai Smoke TD. I used my TI 4 times over the course of the weekend, all tee shots. I had one really good opportunity to hit the TI off the deck on a par 5, but pulled out my 7 wood instead. Should have tried the TI.

In any case, first three tee shots with the TI were solid. 3 fairways or just off the fairway with one. One tee shot was bombed. The fourth tee shot I sort of duffed off the tee, but my buddy had talked during my backswing, so I am blaming it on that (and he fully accepted the blame), lol.

Anyway, initial results were very promising. Next step is to try the TI with my usual Smoke Black. Will see how that goes. I love the Ai Smoke TD, so we’ll see if the TI stays in my bag. But it is definitely a good one.

I am enjoying my HL 16.5 degree.  Glad you took advantage of the 50% Trade In.  With a little luck you may get your credit by Christmas

I seem to have the Elyte Ti 3 wood dialed in, and oh my goodness…I thought the Ai Smoke TD 3 wood was damn good, but this Ti is exceptional. Balance of looks, feel, forgiveness and distance.

For me, the MMT 70 S is a nice pairing (-.5”). 9g weight in front, 6g weight in the back (tried both ways, and the heavier weight in the front simply performed better). Somewhere around D2-D3 SW. Well done Callaway.

Thinking about ordering the 15 deg and adjusting it to 13.5 (I currently game an R9 13 deg 3 wood) and ordering the cally TI with +1 inch to really go all out. I want to be able to reach par 5's in 2 and want a wood that can get me as much distance as possible. I'm able to hit the R9 13° very well so the loft isn't an issue for me and I actually prefer the smaller head. Do you think it's worth adding the extra inch? I'm 510 so standard fits me pretty well, but I'm doing it just for the possible boost.

I’d be worried about how well you can center the club face adding 1 inch but you can always cut it down if it doesn’t work.

Yeah, I'll have to find out and see but that's a nice thing of adding length for subtracting is that you can always take it off later. If I do this, I might consider going extra stiff on the shaft because of the added length and added torque that would be generated to give more direct control with my hands over where the club face is at all times.  If I throw down the money, I definitely would get it fitted as much as I could with custom length if possible at golf galaxy but I don't know if that's something that's doable or not.

I am about four rounds in and still haven't taken it to the range to dial it in but I am glad I went with the 3 wood (15*) over the HL (16.5*). First few shots were kind of low and right so I adjusted the hosel to +1 and the last couple of rounds the height is just where I want it and it seems to have straightened the ball flight. Last few shots were great, not to mention, really LONG!

I tried the Mini Drivers and they were great from the tee but not so much from the fairway. Most modern 3 woods are so shallow that they are great from the fairway but not so much from the tee.

The Callaway Elyte Ti is the UNICORN, great from the tee or from the fairway! Deeper face than most fairways but not so deep as to make it hard of the deck. It is very forgiving in the stock set up with the 6g in the front and 10g in the back, but I have a 2g and 14g on the way which should make it even more forgiving. The feel is sublime, Titanium and Carbon combined for a feel that is addicting.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this club as it stands, but I feel the best is yet to come once I get it fully dialed in.

Keep us posted on what happens with the 14-2 setup.

I couldn't agree more with your assessment - have been playing the 15 with a EC1 Aretera shaft and it just continues to shine.  As you mention, just the right size to be great off the tee, and off the deck.

+1. Mine came to life when I moved the heavier weight to the front—I think 9g/6g in my case for D2-D3 SW.  Similar setup to my TD Max driver with the weights and +1/N.  The Ti 3 wood has been so good.

Got the 2g and 14g weights and put the 2 up front and 14 in the back. I was able to hit about 20 balls at the range and must say it did make a difference in feel and forgiveness. Launch may have come up a touch but hard to tell with range balls plus I am playing it at +1 right now. On course I only had a couple shots from the fairway, but both were very straight and really long.

I have been playing it at 43 inches with a HZRDUS Red 70s and it has been pretty good but it can always be better, right. I ordered my favorite shaft (Ventus Red 7s) that plays at 43.25" so I will need to take a couple grams off the overall weight to get it to D3. I have a 12g on the way. Will report back once that gets some hits in.

Still waiting on this heat to break before I take it to the range for an extensive session where I can test all the variables (shafts, weights etc.). The more I play this club the more I am loving what I see.

I switched mine into 2g front 14g back very early on; made the flight characteristics much more playable. Less inclined to make Quad/TrackMan say silly things, but definitely added launch, spin, peak height, descent angle etc.

Another round in, and the Elyte Ti just keeps getting better. I put a Ventus Red 7s in it playing at 43.25" and it really came to life. I have the weights at 4g front and 10g back and the loft at +1 and am getting a perfect height ballflight that is extremely straight. I am getting close to having this dialed in just waiting for the heat to break this week and I will take it to the range.

I hit four shots from the fairway/rough this weekend and all were long and straight. It is so easy to hit from those tight fairway lies or even in the semi rough. The sound and feel is sublime and the look in the bright sunlight is perfect with that carbon fiber weave. I am really happy with the UNICORN so far.

It is awesome. +1/N, and I have now moved the heavier weight to the back for a bit more forgiveness. 9g back, 7g front, around D3 SW. Playing mine at 42.75" (- 0.5"). Forgiving and long, great off the tee, and solid off the deck.

My Elyte Ti 5w has quickly become my favorite club.  It’s just so easy to produce a high, straight ball flight with some actual ball speed.  I haven’t been a 3w guy for a long time, opting instead for mini drivers, but I love the 5w so much, I may need to try the 3w.
