Temu Golf Bag

it's not just some extra bags, it's all over temu/ali-ex. If you wanted to and had enough capital, you too could start a company selling the same bag. How do you think Superstroke, a golf grip company, suddenly started selling golf bags (that look remarkably like Vessels?)

in the end, branding, rmarketing and capitalism win out, it's why we all have to get the nice new stuff :).

The Temu bags are probably just catalog bags without any logos on them.  China's got companies that offer a catalog full of generic designs that companies like SuperStroke will look at and decide which one they want they logo on.  It's more common with promotional bags, but companies that don't design their own bags will just pick a nice looking design and have their brand sewn on.

I'm sure they're descent bags.

Recently purchased a golf bag off of Temu, although it took over a month to deliver(expected), it has been nothing short of impressive.  This is a beautiful bag with nice pu leather and a surprisingly strong magnetic pocket.  Not a fan of four ways but it was the only option that wasn't branded to the gills on Temu.

Did you ever weigh the Temu bag? Wondering if it is below 6lbs.

While I think that Temu bag is copying the style of a Vessel bag and isn’t made of the same level of components, it still looks decent and if it lasts even a season or two it’s probably worth the money if you like the looks of it.  I have a two month old Vessel Player V that I’ve used less than a dozen times and the stitching has already failed around one of the large pockets, so I’m not convinced that spending the extra money gets you much in terms of additional durability.

And you know that Vessel is made of better level of components how? Your second point would seem to argue against your first.

I said components, not assembly/construction.  I’m not ripping on the bag, just making an observation.  It’s obvious that the pleather, base, handle, straps, legs, feet, retention strap are Vessel style knockoffs, cheaper construction made to look like a Vessel.  Having looked closely at a bunch of these luxo style bags, IMO there’s kinda four levels in terms of quality of components:  1) Titleist LL, 2) Vessel and their white label types (PXG,GFore,Ghost,SS), 3) Kradul, and 4) The Knockoffs.  And honestly, the worst of the bunch from a value perspective IMO are probably #1 and #2.  If this Temu bag holds up, it may be the best value for the money out of any of them.  But I wouldn’t buy it thinking I’m getting Vessel bag with just the branding removed.  There is no free lunch.

Do you or have you owned one of the temu bags?

Based on your response I’m guessing you haven’t seen one in person and that’s ok

Actually, it’s a perfect analogy.  It’s a Chinese knockoff of an expensive luxury brand item.  It may be a decent car (evidently in that case, not so much), but it’s not a Porsche.  Nothing wrong with that.  As long as you accept that you’re not really getting a Porsche, but rather you’re getting a cheaper imitation of one.

Its more likely the same bag, made in the same factory as the Vessel.

You don’t know if it’s good or bad or the same.

It’s an opinion based on….well a car analogy.  If you don’t know the difference in complexity between manufacturing a car and a bag I think we should all be less inclined to believe your assumptions.

But it’s not, as Vessel makes their own bags in their own facility.  They source components but make the bags themselves.  And the components on that Temu bag are not the same as the Vessel.  That much is obvious just looking at it.  Is is a rough copy of a Vessel bag, and it isn’t even an identical design.

From what I've read they assemble and embroider parts that are made in China.

The components for every mass produced golf bag in the world come from China. It doesn’t mean that the same ones make it into every bag, nor does it mean the bags are constructed in the same way using those components.  Nobody can produce and sell an identical bag to the LL/Vessel/GGFore/etc. and sell it for 25% of the price.  There isn’t anywhere near that much margin in the high end bags.  I can buy a $100 Taylor Made driver on Wish.com that looks identical to the real thing right down to the headcover, but it ain’t gonna be the same as the real thing. And no pnwpingi210, I haven’t actually bought one myself, but I have seen the reviews of them…

Again, it could still be a good bag.

Given some of the threads here and other forums that might be a good thing.

Yeah, I also think quality and durability are different words that aren’t synonymous.

I can leave a jeep wrangler with its top down in in the desert for a month and its interior is likely going to look better than if I took a Porsche cayenne and left the windows down and the sunroof open for the same duration.  Not because the quality of the interior in the jeep is better, but because the interior is likely more durable.

Pings nylon weave seems to last for decades.  All of the faux leather poly tends to dry out and crack when exposed to sunlight and  low humidity.

Why does all this matter. You know you're taking a chance when you buy something from Temu. I have 3 bags already and this will be my 4th. I think its worth a shot and I'm not expecting Vessel quality.

Actually I think the opposite.  In think you’re going to get a great value.  I think it’s going to be very very similar quality.  Certainly close enough that you’re doing to be very pleased to save 300 vs Vessel.

Geez, let’s enable more copyright violations and cheating by buying these knock offs. Sorry, folks. Just saying.

You mad you got ignored the first time you said it?   Vessel only has two patents on their bag, and neither are related to the design.  They involve the strap and the base, neither appear to be used by this bag.
