New Project X Iron Shafts (Red Label)

Does anybody have any information on the newly spotted Project X Red Label shafts ?  I haven't seen them or even heard of them before , are they a new shaft or just a new label color ?

Only introduced on Tour.  My source doesn't have them yet.  All I know is they are lighter weight than the original PX 6.0, 120g which I played for 15+ years in MBs.

Seems like a potential modified PX I/O replacement to keep everything under the same label/branding. Obviously I/O went in 5g increments, and this is 10. 10g moves are similar to what is currently being done in Accra with the Green and Red series so this might be a move to bring everything under one umbrella design.

Definitely looks like an IO replacement and also looks like they are trying to cater to a wider demographic with the 100g 5.5 part (I would have preferred to see a 5g 110-115-120 spread). The change in marketing approach makes sense given that the other PX parts that TT has introduced have generally flopped (with exception to the LZ).

So far I can report these shafts are the cats meow for me. Very happy with them and they play similar to the OG Blue Label, just have a softer tip for a little more spin and height, but overall I'm very satisfied and love the feel. I built a set of irons with 6.0's in the irons and 6.5 in the wedges and couldn't be happier. True Temper / Project X has a Winner. If you liked the feel of the OG Shafts and can use a little more spin these might be your ticket.

they certainly have had some flops, that's for sure. I'm thinking changing the weight spread is only going to add to the confusion. the other issue is that for every offering that PX offers, there's a true temper offering that probably does the same thing (and in a lot of cases is a stock offering or no upcharge).

Not sure I am following your logic. True Temper owns Project X. They are designing all of these shafts.
 

The Project X Red is already being offered by Callaway at no up charge. 
 

And they didn’t change the weight spread, they created a new one for a new shaft. The og PX Rifle has its own weight spread.
 

Very similar approach as KBS with standard Tour (120g in stiff) and Tour Lite (100g in stiff.)

If these doing fact play similar to the OG blue label shafts I will need to give them a try. I have been in PX 6.0 for the last decade. I’m not getting younger and don’t want to go to graphite or light weight yet I could see something like these in my next irons

I play 6.5 or xstiff equivalent in all my woods but been in the OG PX 6.0 iron shafts for at least 5 years now. I'm curious about these Reds in 6.5. Have been wanting to compare the two for a while. 

 

Truthfully have never gamed OG 6.5s (thought they'd be too low lunch & never had issues with my 6.0s) but if anyone has tested the new Reds in 6.5 how do they compare to the OG 6.0 / 6.5
