Well worth the watch for the interview at the end.  I'm all in on senior golf boys.

I really enjoy the oldster tour, as a fellow oldster it is still incredible how good they are.

Must be, once you are a tour level golfer it doesn't go away, just a bit shorter with the sticks.

Most not all, thought I heard Zinger say Ernie Els swing speed would still rank top 15 on the PGA Tour. I believe it, he hit a couple 320+ drives in the 2 rd.

I am too getting older every minute.  I like watching my "peers".  I also love longer irons into par 4s and 3 shot par 5s!

Ok here’s my crazy Senior Tour idea. Lower the age to 45, and incentivize the right guys that have legacy tour status to move earlier. This bolsters interest in the Senior Circuit and frees up more spots week to week for up-and 

-coming young talent on the tour.

Let's just move it up to 35 then.  Yeah, more people.  DJ come on out.  55 was a decent age, but they lowered it to 50.  Seems like the right spot.

Not sure why moving it to 45 is anything like 35 - the PGA Tour’s biggest problem is too many vets with status that are not legit competitors anymore outside a few weeks a year taking spots from the incredible up and coming talent. Taking away Monday Q’s makes this even harder. Seems like a reasonable question to consider moving vets with status to the senior tour earlier (I.e. at 45) to make room in fields.

Maybe he leaves a lot in the tank but Ernie ranked 12th on the Champions Tour last year with an average driving distance of 291 yards, Brian Harmann ranked 160th on the PGA Tour with an average of 292 yards.

Mediate is a prime example for amateurs to "play your game" and learn to score.

 

We all have those sly older golfers at our club who have an orthodox swing, old clubs and putting stroke, but shoot low scores in a medal round.

 

Check out Mr Wagner's game here! I think he was off 2 in California back then..

Is this one of the 15 or so events that are being broadcast remotely? Sure seems like it - no energy in this broadcast at all.

IBanesto, thanks much for posting that. What's most remarkable to me about Rocco is the 'physics' of his golf swing. I mean, he doesn't look like he even *has* a core, let alone a 'strong core', and while Ernie Els' swing looks 'effortless', Rocco's swing just looks *slow*! And yet, he has played and successfully competed on US Open set-ups -- from the tips -- his whole career. In other words, it's a swing that looks like it shouldn't generate *any* power/speed, and yet it generates more than enough -- and no matter how many youtube videos I watch or teachers past and present I read or expert analysis I listen to, I can't get a handle on the 'physics' and mechanics of it.

Alker wins the Cologuard Classic. He played the New Zealand Open last week, so all the travel did him good!

 

I was rooting for the underdog Jason Caron to get his 1st win with his Happy Gilmore-esque putting grip.

I really enjoy watching the senior tour Champions since many of those guys are basically in my age group and those that I followed for years on the PGA Tour.  I agree that the broadcast often does lack some buzz and excitement.  A couple of times, my wife asked me if I had the TV on mute because of the quiet-ness of the TV coverage.

 

I actually don't mind the chilled-out, low-key nature of the Champions Tour TV broadcast; it's kind of relaxing in a way.
