On course commentators have helped finding golf balls for many years but no hard and fast rule they have to do so.

 

So why Maltbie didn't help Harrington but has helped others at other tournaments, I don't know. He may have money against Harrington this week... 😅

A couple of things occurred to me while watching the senior open.

 

a. I’m 46, and never understood the appeal of the senior tour growing up. Now that I’m getting older, I get it. Enjoyable to watch players from my youth.

b. The Rolex commercial free coverage is incredible. Maybe I hate commercials more than most, but it’s a much better experience than typical tour events, especially now with the absolutely loathsome “eye on the course” and “playing through” bs.

 

Good work USGA, Rolex and probably to a lesser extent, nbc.

Senior tour is awesome as is the Senior Open.  In fact I like all USGA tournaments.  First class

They sure let the long putter dudes anchor away at the senior tour level. IMO it is a dumb rule anyway. If it was such an advantage everyone would do it.

I'm 65 and have never been able to get excited about the geezer tour.  For me, it's just another exhibition tour and I just don't care who wins, even the "majors".  It's also a tour my group of geezer golf buddies never discusses.  But I'm sure many enjoy watching it, so you aren't alone.

Gary player says it's the hardest tour to win on because you have to lace it up and compete as an old guy lol

Unpopular golf takes warning.

I don’t look at Senior tour majors as legit majors.
And since it’s come up. 53 and would rather watch a regular season MLB game than a Champions tour event.

I know many are down on Paddy for the way he handled the lost golf ball thing with Roger (which I agree Paddy was out of line) but I was pulling for him to get the win.  Happy for him.   He has provided some great golf instruction/tip content on YT for years and seems to be sincere in helping golfers to get better so no problem giving him a pass on an emotional reaction to his terrible shot/lost ball
