New Ventus White Shaft?

Anybody hit one of these yet, any comparisons to AirSpeeder, etc.?

Getting my father into this possibly.  He was in Ventus Red 5S a couple of years ago, but has lost some clubhead speed.  He's probably the straightest driver of the ball I've ever met, so the high-stability of Ventus Red isn't needed, but I do want to draw the line at a torque level that isn't crazy high.  As an example, he's strong enough not to need a stock GT1/40g, but could benefit from a lighter shaft in a higher ballspeed head like GT2/3, maybe even GT4.

I am going to pick up the R2 senior shaft for my TSR2 11* driver.  I am playing a Ventus TR Red 5R2 senior shaft tipped an inch and it has worked pretty well.  But I hit a GT1 12* with an Air Speeder senior in a simulator about 10 yards longer.  If the Ventus White doesn't work in the TSR2, I will try it in a GT1.

I have been playing a Titleist GT1 driver (10*) with the Air Speeder R, and a Titleist GT2 (11*) with a Ventus white R2 tipped 1/2".

My observations.  Both are easier to swing through the ball than the TSR2/Ventus TR Red both R and R2 that I played last year.  And they feel better too.  I'm 72, and get tired easily over 18 holes.  The lighter Air Speeder and Ventus white are just plain easier, and longer.

The GT1 10*/Air Speeder R launches the ball a bit higher, but I think that it spins more.  I played in Massachusetts last week and thought that I really hit that club well, but it was shorter than my playing partner.  Softer fairway provided no run.  The GT2 11*/Ventus White R2 on the other hand, flights a little lower, also feels great, and I think that it runs out more.  Yes, I need to get on a launch monitor.  But at this point I prefer the Ventus White/GT2 over the Air Speeder/GT1.

72 years old, swinging around 80mph.

I’m starting over after 2 year layoff from shoulder surgeries. Went to get fit and wanted lighter for less strain. Tried the white in stiff and it was a quality shaft.  It spun too much but launch and consistency were great. Ended up with red in 5S.  White was consistent 350-400 more rpm compared to red. It could be great for people that just need more spin than they can get in a red or blue.

Mine was built to 44.5 inches. I play a shorter shaft. I'm not sure about swing weight but at 63 years of age I am moving to lighter equipment. It is definitely lighter than my G430. It does not feel counterbalanced to me like the Alta CB. Hope this helps. Second game today indoors and my ball speed was up again and dispersion was excellent.

Now that you have had this for several months what are your results outside on course?

It’s been awesome and is my gamer. I tried the TPT Nitro and the Ventus was better. Continue to hit some of my longest drives in years with this. Also have the Vanquish and the distance and dispersion were better as well with the Ventus. It’s easy to swing and I have so much confidence with it. Plus it looks great. Hope that helps.

It does help, thanks!   What number Nitro do you have.  I have a 19 hi.  But probably could have gone 18 hi.

I also have a 19hi. I was on the fence between a 19 and 18. I just sold it and took a big loss but the Ventus White has been that good that I knew I wasn’t going to change.

Thanks.  I’ll keep the TPT in my ZXi. But want the White for my GT2.

I’m thinking about trying the Ventus White. I’m in the Ventus Blue TR R right now. However looking at the butt and tip stiffness I’m wondering if I should go to the White stiff since the butt and tip stiffness are similar. In a perfect world I would pick up a bit more launch and a bit more ball speed from the lighter weight. Any thoughts?

I went from a Ventus TR Red 5R2 tipped 1/2" to the Ventus White R2 tipped 1/2".  It worked out very well for me.  I think that with a lighter shaft, if you go too stiff, you might lose the sense of timing it.

My advice is cheap.  And might not be worth anything.

Also, you can send an email to Fujikura and see what they say.

I agree with Greg. I was in the Ventus TR Blue regular flex before moving to the Ventus White. For me, it made sense to stay in the same flex regardless of butt and tip stiffness. Even if you step on it and go hard, the White can handle it. Depends on your swing speed but I am around 90 mph and the White is perfect.

As Greg said, my advice is free and may not help much. But I was similar to you and the White is fine in regular flex for me.

For what it's worth.

For a 47 gram shaft, the Ventus White is more stout than you would expect.  The R2 is certainly more stout than the Fuji Air Speeder R that I have.

Thx so much Dale! I’m going to my fitter and try to R and S and see how it’s does vs my TR Blue.

Having a hard time finding one of these through my normal channels with a Titleist Tip.  Our rep says they aren't in the matrix for Titleist yet, possibly later in the year.  have a message in to my @Fujikura Golf contact. Otherwise looks like a reach out to @Peoples Golf may be in order.

I have been getting my shafts through JD’s clubs. He is awesome and fast shipping.

Expensive mistake.  It didn't work in the 5-wood.

Consistency.  It is nicely consistent in my driver, but not so in the 5-wood.  I went back to a Ventus Red 5R.
