Graphite Design Tour AD VF Driving Iron shaft, Nippon Modus Tour 110, Attomax Atom Shaft, Fine-Tuned Wedge

Recommended Posts

That wedge is really intriguing.    It would be really cool to swap bounces depending on course conditions vs. having a whole extra club.  I wonder if the wedges feel any different, being mechanically connected like that vs. one solid chunk of metal.

That Fine Tuned Adjustable wedge is really gorgeous. Absolutely love the idea of a VF driving iron shaft. I’m very hesitant on an Attomax Shaft, thing is probably going to be insanely expensive. Their golf balls are still like $250 a dozen

I know someone who works for the company here in New Zealand. The idea is you get fitted and they can adjust bounce, grind, swingweight, COG all with the different sole plate. Not quite intended as a DIY adjustment option yet but the options are basically endless as far as dialing in the sole plate

MODUS3 TOUR110 - I was at the cold, rainy demo day…Brrr

All the MODUS3 models that end in “0” are new profiles in the market.

This MODUS3 is a different and stiffer profile, very stable, and the ball flight just doesn’t move very much. Helps with less spin, 110 grams in S flex. Not for an “easy or steady swinger”, so this model is not for the TOUR120 user. I expect that stronger, agressive swingers, who look for stability in a lighter package, will want to try the TOUR110.

their target market is ultra high end private courses where players will spend $300 on a wedge with a bespoke fitting experience. They are considering a cheaper option with a set number of configurations but at the moment every piece is 100% milled to order

Damn it. First hope was it is a lighter 120... I really love the 120, it gives me the absolute perfect numbers on good shots, but the weight throws off my timing a little

How did the handle feel? Any comp to the feeling of 105 or 115?

Definitely would make sense with the 120 and 130 being so different.

110 = Individual Profile

120 = Individual Profile

130 = Individual Profile

105/115/125 = All very similar in profile for the 100g/115g/125g player. (I know that's not their actual weight)

I would say this probably gets them close to completing their "shaft matrix" too. 3 off the wall options, and 3 very typical linear options.

They say stiffer tip to mid and lower balance point... hmm might have to try.

The pic of the GD Raune iron shaft was on IG, but didn't make it to the Forum.  They're up on the Pro's Choice site. They look intriguing, but $140/shaft for irons seems like classic GD pricing and guaranteed to be in hardly anyone's bag. When I looked them up yesterday the pricing was $180/shaft....

I don’t have a problem spending the cash. But not having access to a fitter unless it’s a club in Cali is ridiculous. They should have mobile fittings in golf states like Florida.

In their defense they are essentially a startup who have been in the fitting game for less than a year. I can't imagine its cheap to just go straight from zero US presence to having full coverage in the USA. No doubt if they are successful they will expand into other big golf markers

Any info on the Atom shaft? Website has specs but no pricing or where to buy...

it’s an est $800 shaft.

The draw was they used the same technology when they created the longest ball in golf. It’s not a USGA legal ball but they took the nano technology and wrapped it around the shaft. So it supposed have a dynamic load feel when swinging. Torque with feel. They are starting to build out their dealer network.

Fined tuned I believe is setting up regional dealers. Best to check with them on your options.

it’s a full fitting system for wedges, putters, etc
