Nippon Modus 110 is here!

Has anyone hit this product?

Is there any info or graphics on the profile?

This will fill a crucial missing link. The 105 was a touch too light and loose. The 115 was a touch too heavy and loose. Really excited!!

I dont know if you tried the 120 yet but its actually lighter than the 115.  No idea why nippon made the modus 120 - 114g and the modus 115 - 119g.  Pretty confusing.

All the nippons seem to go left for me but i keep trying them because they do feel good.  Im in project x IO shafts now in 6.0 that weigh 110 and i love them.

It is a bit strange that the 115 and 120 almost overlap in weight. In their X flex it seems the 110g=115g, the 115g=119.5g and the 120g=120g. The stiff flex is where it starts to get weird with weighting. Interested to see the profile of the 110g!

Nippon site has this in the description. Quoted from them:

“By increasing the rigidity from the tip through the mid-section, the N.S.PRO MODUS3 TOUR110 delivers performance that allows golfers’ skills to control trajectory while maintaining directional stability with optimal spin. The TOUR110’s balance point is closer to the tip, appealing to players who love the feel of traditional heavyweight shafts. While TOUR110 is a lightweight design that promotes faster swing speeds, it also responds exceptionally well to the power and techniques of stronger golfers.”

Entirely different bend profiles. Same weight? Sure. But will definitely not play the same.

Yep - just giving some background. Your post made it seem like because they were the same weight, they essentially did the same thing.

Haha nope but I totally could see it seeming that way. Thanks for the heads up. It seems the new 110 will be a low spin shaft considering the tighter tip?

Wonder if the stiff tip/mid implies having a very soft butt section to compensate. That would make the driver shaft comment on their site make sense.

So profile is basically opposite of 105/115/125 lineup?

A few months back I spoke with Mark Pekarek from Shaftology and the US distributor for Nippon, and he mentioned the modus 110 was on the horizon and I was left with the impression that it's meant to slot into the 120/130 profile, which is distinctly different from the 105/115/125 profile. I'm not sure if that's the case but I'd certainly defer to him until there's actual data. Maybe someone who has access to the shaft data at Fit2Score can post about the differences in those 2 profiles. I don't understand much about EI curves and all that jazz.

The last number is the series/profile, not the weight.  The next iteration will probably be a 100 that is close to the weight of the 105 but with a softer butt section.

sounds like it is stiff mid through tip and a soft handle. similar to Accra i steel red but lighter and softer.

I am fairly certain it is going to a lighter version that mimics the ei profile of 130.

120 and 130 complete opposite profiles and the 110 almost overlaps the 120 in weight so makes no sense to be of similar profile.

Just think of the 130 plot lower on the same magnitude as the 105 and 125.

Could be, but they said this is tip stiff and tip heavy, which is modus 120 to a T

130 is xstiff handle and mid, and soft tip with a high balance point.

They say increased stiffness from tip to mid section so they did not indicate how stiff the tip is to start. Does not have stiff but which makes it balanced

Prob just a blend of both haha

The balance point moving towards the tip would suggest it's a little more reinforced in the tip and a little softer in the butt.

The 120 is only 114g in stiff flex.  It's 120g in Xstiff, and 126g in TX.

As for going left...   have you tried the Modus 130?

Per the Nippon website:

A new standard that crystallizes 15 years since its debut

The sixth model of the N.S.PRO MODUS3 series, which had been commercialized based on feedback from touring professionals, was developed as the third model in the "0 Series" with innovative shaft characteristics previously not seen on the market in response to the needs of professional golfers.

Its possible but not a definite certainty.

It could also easily be evenly distributed just above the tip moving up to the midpoint.

The balance point is only moving comparing it to another shaft. The shaft is made with its given balance point and its not an additive process of adding more weight somewhere and calculating again in this context

Would love to run over to OCN and give it a swing so I can report, but alas no invite to PGA show this year.

Sounds like it is a Tour120 ish shaft, but it does not have as extreme soft butt to stiff mid/tip transition. It is more gradual/linear. My guess is this will translate to a slightly firmer feeling Tour120, more control / feel feedback, more confidence.

From the reviews I'm reading it doesn't sound like a Tour130-lite. It sounds more like a tweaked 120 to mellow out that grip to mid section transition. The goal of the shaft is apparently to lower apex height by lowering spin. Which seems a bit confusing because Tour115 was supposedly the public release of the LSL "Low spin Low Launch."  So we have a similar weight (within 10g) doing the same thing?

I'll find some eventually and add them to my memory bank of Nippon. Wake me up win a Tour135 comes out. That would be very interesting. So many of the protos people still love were very heavy shafts. I know Nippon caters well to the lightweights, but we want some heavyweights too!.
