New Ball on Your Radar to try in 2025?

Is there a relatively new ball to market or updated ball that anyone is going to test out? I'm not a Titleist guy so have no interest in the new Prov's. They are a great ball but can't justify the cost when I know from experience there isn't really much difference in my game. I hover in between the lower spinning 3 piece urethane offerings like Vice pro, Vice Air or Oncore VeroX1 etc. However I'm going to try out the New Mizuno Pro S, The updated Wilson Triad, The Updated Maxfli Tour S as well as the new PXG Tour. Anyone else exploring other options?

I have yet to hit the newer TP5X’s. Might give that a whirl and maybe the Cally 💎💎💎

New Srixon XV.   Gaming the Diamond currently but the XV changes seem interesting.  Hoping the Diamond is as good, or better then the current version too.

Played Bridgestone B330S years ago and loved it.   Didn’t like the first couple iterations of the BXS or any of those lines but recently found a 2024 BXS and really liked it.  Will give it a go against my Pro V1X but will try the new 2025 iteration of those as well.

Triple diamond for sure. 
 

Played CSXLS on and off for 2 seasons and hope it’s the similar. Would love it to be the exact ball plus a tad more greenside grab.

I believe it will be quite different. CS LS was marketed to be low spin but really wasnt all that much. The new TD will be much more in line with the left dash from what i hear.

One of the gorillas at work tested the TD ball and quite liked it. He likened it to a hard Chrome Tour. Great ball speed off driver and 16.5° fairway with a bit more carry over Z Star XV that he had in hand. Lower spin in the irons yet plenty of stopping power around the green. Measured peak heights were plenty high. Seemed promising.

The Chrome Tour TD is definitely #1 on my radar right now, I'm in between the current CT balls and this would possibly be perfect for me in their line up. I'm also interested in the updated Srixon Z-Star XV especially if green side spin is improved over previous generations which was always an issue for me. 

 

That's really it for new, new. I've already tested both of the new PXG balls with good results in my eyes with the Extreme Tour winning out for me over the Extreme Tour X. The current TP5X has been my gamer for 2024 so will see if anything above beats it out, or if anything is close but cheaper.

The Gen 1 CSXLS was much more akin to what CT TD and Left Dash is. The Gen 2 LS ended up being a very meh animal; too similar to CSX but also not doing anything as well or better than CSX did.

 

First two rounds I played with CT TD were in cold, windy conditions that would make it impossible for any ball to make a big first impression. Finally got to play it in some more pleasant conditions for 9 holes yesterday, and it is an intriguing prospect. It is noticeably firmer than CT and even CTX, but the driver "freak ball" is definitely in there.

I played Nike balls for a long time, so I'm always curious about Bridgestone products and how they compare to the benchmark Titleist.

I tried the Maxfli X last year. Really enjoyed it, but like something softer. Trying to base Maxfli tour this year. So far i really like it and it was within 3% of Prov1 at my local sim. Cant beat the price

For now I am set on playing the Chrome Tour as I have four dozen to lose first.  Plan on buying a sleeve of the new ProV1s to see how they compare.  Worried that the Chrome Tour might not spin enough as I started testing this about a month ago and temps have not always cooperated (cold temps = lower spin).  Sounds like the new ProV1 might spin a tad more.

Ditto on everyone waiting on the 3D Callaway ball. I played the LS and love the performance but it was terrible feeling and the cover shredded. Hoping they fixed those things.

I'm intrigued by the new Wilson Triad ball. I'm always looking for a good mid-budget option and the new ball with all 3 layers being the same density sounds really interesting.

Bridgestone is an excellent ball. Definitely give it a try

Bought a bunch of the PXG Tour X balls at end of last year.  For the price, I thought why not?

 

They are a good ball.  Long and durable.  I don't think there is a noticeable difference from the Prov1X that is my preference, aside from my own Ego.

Bought some 2025 V1s on Saturday. Unable to play due to storm damaged course, but tried them out with a putting aid. Definitely softer and better feeling than previous two models. Going to order some Oncore balls now they are available in the UK and will try the latest Z-star if they have made it firmer.

Just IMO, but DSG has a considerable content of high performance to price offerings at this time. 
 

Current Maxfli Tour X models at $30, previous at $25 and $20. IMO the current and last versions of the X model are the picks here.

 

They have several interesting options on Callaway models, including the CS X LS at $35.

 

Another interesting option is the 2021 TP5x. This was TM’s move away from the distance-oriented 2019 model to something that their tour players requested be closer to the V1x. If you like Titleist balls generally, it is oddly similar to the 2025 V1 (non-X).

Just picked up the CTX TD at dicks. Not sure if they’re supposed to be on shelf yet but they had them.

I never end up gaming the Maxfli ball but I always like to give it a go because they are priced right

Otherwise been loving the current TP5x

Hearing some really good things on the new Mizuno Pro ball. More speed and less spin off the driver than V1X, and more speed, spin, and peak height off the irons than V1X. If they have fixed the durability issue they have a winner.

Srixon XV.....have played Diamond in the past and liked it.  I will also try the new Pro V1.  I have been hitting the Chrome Tour X quite a bit this winter and really liking it.  We'll see how things shake out.
