Anyone playing this shaft in a driver and what are your experiences? At 75 and getting a bit slower looking to go lighter and trying to decide between a 5.0 or 5.5 freq. Swingspeed is down in that 85 mph range. Sad. LOL.

I played one as a stock shaft in a Cleveland Driver for a little bit. My swing speed is a bit faster and I played the 6.0.

I found the Cypher it to be super sloppy. Misses were horrible. Never felt like I could control it.

If you are looking for a super solid, lightweight, and flexy shaft - and have the funds to invest - I think the MCA Vanquish is a great option to consider. Excellent quality and construction. Super solid - even in the lighter and flexier models.

But, of course, this is all a matter of taste. Only thing to do is test everything you can and find what works for you.

My experience as well, sub 80 CHS in Senior flex. Now using Evenflow blue 55gm Sr , working well.

I am a year behind you. Haven't messed with Cypher 40g, but have Cypher, 50 - 5.0 53g R and 5.5 55g S, and a new Cypher 2.0 5.0 A flex sleeved for my driver. Also, an older Project X Cypher Black, 5.0 50g A in 3wd.

The latter older is in my 16.5 3wd right now. When I slow down, the "A" flex is amazingly long and straight. The problem is: hard for me to slow down. It's 43.25" playing length, feels like a rubber band. LOL My wife has the PX Cypher 5.0 A in her driver and really likes it.

I just put a Cypher 2.0 Fifty 5.5 in my driver. My swing speed is 95-100 with a smooth transition. So far, I love it. I enjoy feeling a little bend and kick which it gives. I tend to generate high spin, but it has pretty consistently kept my spin down in the 2500-3000 range, unless I get REALLY quick.

I actually tried it because I got a hybrid that had the Fifty 5.0 in it and I really liked the feel and results.

If your 85mph in driver, the 5.0 is probably a good option. If you have a hard transition, it may not be your cup of tea.

Hit it first if you can. I think the Cypher 2.0 is one of the stock options for the Callaway AI Smoke drivers so you can probably try one at your local golf store.
