Tour AD DI 6S vs Hzrdus black gen 4 6.0

AD DI 6S to me was one of the easiest shafts to load in the GD family I have tried, and there is that pop when you time it. I game a TP and IZ, much more subtle blueboard feeling for how I time things currently.

For me the black line of is relatively linear, not much load feel. Gen 4 one could state has a smidge more feel then earlier gens but it would never be confused with a DI IMHO, to me night and day different feels.

The DI is a profile if you are in the low to mid 100s and the 'edge' of a S in that family (its relative to only that shaft), the 6X could be tighter where as other GD shafts with different carbon fiber construction a 6S could be just right, so don't get too wound around the axle on rated stiffness either.

Along the same lines, a PX Black 5.5 could be a good fit for the same player speed.

I don’t necessarily have a lot of speed but I have a very quick transition.  The ping tour shaft from the g400 line was my favourite of all time, and I also loved the gen 4 black when I demoed it with a tsr3. How would you compare the original ping tour to the tour ad? Might be able to get a great deal on a driver with the DI 6S in it but won’t be able to demo it first.

I have no experience with the Ping shafts personally (they have some excellent ones for sure), its simply a matter of fitting to you.

Its a generality, on paper DI would be meh for someone quick/hard to load but only you will know with testing and data. Plenty of tour guys and gals have gamed/game the DI, but the weight/flex also matches their load and sequencing.

The WRX way if it really is a great deal is to get it, if you hate it sell the DI (it holds its value fine you can see sales/auction prices to get a feel) and a Black is not an expensive shaft, tons of them from OEM offerings such as Callaway.

There are some fantastic fitters on there, and its the same advise: hard to recommend with words, can simply give advise on how they tend to play within types: only you can be the judge 😉

DI has a big kick and IMO, doesn't like to be yanked on in transition.

HZRDUS black is the common choice for handle yankers that still want some feel.

If you need a little more bend but similar profile, Kai'li white.

If you're more of a consistent, hard loader but still kinda smooth, HZRDUS RDX green.  The mid is a little firmer but has a tiny kick near the tip, so it's not a total board.

Would agree with this statement.

DI most load and soft feel

Kaili kind of middle of both

Hazardous black more boardy but the newer gens have much more feel

The Hzrdus black is unforgiving, low launch and low spin. How people like this shaft I'll never understand, especially when you see Rory launching driver with a 160+ foot apex. Yet somehow everyone here wants lower launch.

I see the torque number for the DI at 3.3 and the black gen 4 at 3.5; I just assumed this meant more real world stiffness and that it would feel more boardy/one-piece with less give.

Take things like that with a lump of salt. Static measurements are just that and only help (a smidge) when you are comparing within the same shaft/family.

MFGs will measure differently. A shaft also is a dynamic device: yes there are static measurements you can take at points but when you swing it its dynamic, and the materials also can and do impact feels despite what a paper says it was measured at.

Even using EI curves while useful to a point, get messy when you overlay them on top of different shafts and try to figure out why one feels so radically different. Example the DI curve looks darn similar to an Evenflow Black curve, and while the Black is a pretty good feeling shaft (and still a BB profile, not a typical black despite the name) its not close to a DI in terms of feels from my experience.

If you yank or load, most blueboards feel too loose.

Rory probably doesn't want to be hitting 160' moon balls.  He absolutely could play a setup that launches lower.  But I'm guessing that his Ventus black 6X gives him the most confidence.  I would also guess he's tried all kinds of other setups to better optimize launch but there are other tradeoffs he doesn't like.

VB and HZRDUS green are nearly identical profiles.  Good for heavy loaders that don't yank i.e. Rory.
