Callaway '08 FT Hybrids

 

Fusion Technology construction combines a stainless steel face and body with a tungsten-loaded sole plate, allowing Callaway Golf engineers to strategically place the CG for optimal ball flight trajectories and shot-shaping control. The OptiFit System on the FT Neutral Hybrid has a CG location that provides golfers maximum workability. The tungsten-infused sole is designed with a lower leading edge, making the sweet spot more accessible for various skill levels, while the dual runner design ensures cleaner turf interaction for more flushed shots. The stainless steel hosel creates the aesthetics and customization that appeals to a wider range of players and adds loft without increasing face progression for more confidence at address.

Demoed these at demo day. If you want a higher ballflight from your hybrids, this is it. Hit about 20 balls and thought this club was fantastic. I'll give it a solid 5, wonderful club.

Best hybrid I ever played with - and I've owned Adams Idea Pro, Titleist 585H and Taylor Made Rescue Dual Tp.

 

Ideal for chipping from the fringe, low and high full shots from the rough and also great off the tee on long par 3's and short par 4's.

would someone please pm me the tip size of this hybrid? also, is this an easier callaway club to pull the shaft from? i know the ft drivers are a pain but this looks like it has a standard hosel...

fyi its .370. so far this thing is a monster. just need to find the right shaft for it. ive had a hard time finding a hybrid with a lie angle and head size that i like. this one has been working so far. i really like how it interacts with the fairway and rough. definitely meant to be played more like an iron. i was playing an Adams A3 boxer before and while i liked the feel and using it off of the tee, out of rough was a nightmare. the lie angle or the head shape gave me poor results, too.

I have had the 18* since May and love it. Only get in trouble when I really try to jump on it and get quick. No need as with a 7 iron tempo it goes for ever and is very easy to shape with the square face

I was fitted for the 24* and love it. Very long and accurate. Smooth swings equal perfect height and carry. The club is very easy to work the ball.

I have tried about every hybrid out there and think I finally found a winner! Can't find a thing about it so far that I don't like.

I bought the 18*, liked it so much I bought the 21*, liked it so much i bought the 24*. I've tried most of the brands out there and owned Adams, Ping, Cleveland, and Nickent. All are in the closet because of the FT's

I demoed these and others extensively over the summer -- it's a nice hybrid, but unbelievably, I found the Wilson Fybrid to have better feel, length and forgiveness in comparable lofts.

I have recently put the 21 deg and 24 deg in the bag. Three rounds a few range sessions and I am convinced these are the best Hybrids I have played. The smaller head sets up nicely behind the ball and the all black head frames the ball well. These are very long the ball comes off the face hot and gets up quick. The flight is high and penetrating. I have used them from the tee on long par 3s from the fairway into par 5s and from the rough and in all three conditions they have performed well with the desired results. I have played the Taylormade Dual Rescues and the Ping Raptures both of those performed well but I prefer the looks and performance of the Callaway FT 2008 Hybrids over each of those.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me these produce a higher ball flight than I would like. I've recently moved to the Titleist 909H. Alot smoother through impact and a perfect trajectory.

Interestingly, I just gave up the Fybrid for the Callaway Fusion. The Fusion produced more boring trajectory with the Fujikura shaft. The Wilson was also boring but the shaft was probably incorrect for me (Proforce standard shaft) as I had no control over trajectory and could only hit it low.
