I think the shop is doing what they can, and Wilson is probably trying also. Gonna chalk it up to unrealistic expectations on my part. I have the patience of a gnat.

In the very, very slim chance you are located in NC I'm happy to let you try out any of my clubs from the experience while you wait for your order.

What a nice offer! I'm in Ohio, but I really appreciate your kindness and generosity. Thanks so much.

Anytime! I kind of view it as part our responsibility being selected to go on one of these member trips.  Unfortunately, none of the four of us live anywhere close to Ohio...

I got all excited following this thread and ordered some Wilson Clubs. Guess what, they messed up my order and I've been waiting about a month for them to fix it and ship my clubs.  Called Wilson, but they said there was nothing they could do since I ordered the clubs from a golf shop. I trust the shop and don't think it was the shop's fault. Kinda frustrating to get excited about new clubs based on these great experiences and having trouble with a pretty simple order. Just a bummer.

I am in the exact same boat, ordered mine through one of the big retailers last month. Wilson screwed up the initial order, hoping they send the right order and specs to the store sometime this week.  I have not called Wilson, just in touch with the retailer. Staying patient for now but a bit frustrated of course especially after not having them for my very recent buddy golf trip.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to wake up the next day with my custom ordered clubs waiting for me on the range in a bag with my name on it, but my experience so far was sorta the opposite end of the spectrum. On the other hand, I'm a sucker for marketing and reading about the experience of the guys who went on the trip sucked me in pretty hard. I think if Wilson wants to make a dent, they're going to have to do a little better job on the production end. (Just my humble, I'm not in the golf industry opinion.) But as I indicated earlier, I'm open to the opinion that my expectations were set too high and were unrealistic.

It's super disappointing.  I think the equipment is great, I even got a buddy into a set of Dynapower forged - but if the experience getting the equipment (bad website, slow turn around, not getting specs right) is terrible, it's going to turn people off the brand.  Wilson seems to really struggle to build much hype or take advantage of the hype they do build.

When we were at Cabot,  apparently some of the influencer golfers were out there getting fit as well. I don't think Wilson has leveraged that much at all.  Callaway and TM are great about having both the influencers and pros out there getting "first reactions" to the new release and showing improvements in ball speed..etc.  Just building that hype up.   Maybe Wilson thinks that sort of thing doesn't really move the needle, but I'm confused about the direction they take sometimes.

Your expectations aren't out of sorts. Most of the OEMs have had some kind of order woes make the rounds here and most of them come down to poor controls. Orders should come in, the components should be checked against the order with product codes prior to assembly and again before shipping, all standard or custom specs should be verified as in place, and the mess ups simply shouldn't be a thing. There's no reason with all the simple, modern means of preventing this that it should have happened, anymore than Cleveland's recent SNAFU with their RTZ wedges should have gone down.

"Quality is free" holds true here; not hitting the mark for quality has cost Wilson a very needless public ding in what should be a good time thread and with what could have been another response from a satisfied customer in a time when they're still iffy on overall sentiment.

Wilson is very weird in that department. The only reason they had any buzz around the initial Dynapwr release was that it was so good the few creators who got them were raving. They didn't have anywhere near the number of channels doing unboxing videos or hyping the release that other OEMs do. This cycle has been better, but unless the heads weren't actually ready they also should have gotten them out to WRX to be a part of the site's best of,  all the more because it goes live a bit after all the main OEMs have done their releases but closer to Wilson's. They also for some reason don't get heads out to Cool Clubs. They did get out to Club Champion while Ian was still there and Matty tested them on his own then decided to start carrying them, but there's no coherent plan by all appearances.

The website there are no excuses for. They're one of the biggest sporting goods companies in the world, they have the funds to higher a competent web dev team to build and maintain the site, including setting up monitoring to tell them what links are failing out.

All these things come up in all of the bigger Wilson threads and there's a reason for it.

Really didn't want to ruin a good time thread. The whole experience was wonderful to read about. It seems like a dream experience.

Adding a note...   Billy Bob's now has collars for Wilson, to go with their All Fit adapters.

A little update:

The only club I've really been iffy on is the 7 wood. My Apex Pro hybrid covers a similar distance, and while the 7 wood gives me a bit more ball speed, it was lost in a higher trajectory with more spin.

BUT!   I watched a video (maybe one of the GolfWRX inside the ropes) where a tour pro talked about the 7 wood and how he can play a trap draw with it to squeeze more distance if he needed.  So I thought "Hmm, why didn't I think of that!?"

I spent some time on the range today and the 7 wood really brought me into the light.  It's surprisingly workable. I was really impressed that I could control the trajectory as easy as I did.  Especially trying to hit that trap draw,  it really turned into a nice flat ball flight and bridged the gap between the 3 wood and the stock 7 wood.

A 7w is such a fun club to have in the bag in general. So versatile.  They did really really well with the Dynapwr Carbon too.  Hard to find a truly neutral 7w it seems.  Glad it's starting to get more respect from OEMs.

I haven't had a chance to play in a few weeks.  And, the two times I did, the weather was awful.  I have a tee time tomorrow and really am hoping for some sunshine and the ability to play in one layer.  I am testing out some new grips on a few clubs.  Kind of a wild over the top option for a solution that could be fixed with some practice.  But, without much spare time these days, here I am trying some gimmicks hoping for a miracle lol.  I will share more on that after the round tomorrow and once I see how it goes.

The only club that I question it's place in my bag is the 13.5 Carbon 3w.  I just have not had much need for it off the deck (not surprised) and off the tee I have been just pulling it dead left for whatever reason.  There will be a few holes I can use it off the tee tomorrow.  So, I will have a much better idea after the round how it's looking.

@radiman, @ColdOkieGolf, yall have me thinking I need to pick up a dynapwr 7 wood now… the 21 deg RB utility has been great, but the Dynapwr carbon 16.5 has been nothing short of perfect for me. Side note, as a consumer, one area I think Wilson could step it up a bit, is just better options for shafts/grips/builds.

It really kicks the versatility and forgiveness up a notch.

Agree re: more shaft/grip options. They put me in a WB 83 TX - that's not offered on the site. There are no 80+ gram shafts offered.  I understand targeting your SKUs to the bell curve, but it's odd to have such a limited choice. The Callaway TD 7 wood is a bit more expensive (70 bucks), but I could order it with a Tensei White/Black 85 X for no upcharge. If I'm shopping for a 7 wood and know I need a heavier X-flex shaft, I look at Wilson and don't see it. I can go to TM or Callaway and get exactly what I need.

Heck,  even the 3wood.  Knowing it's a bit lower launch and spin,  if you want a 70 something gram shaft in a mid/mid profile, there is nothing aside from the stock non velocore.

Agree. I was On golf USAs site, one of the better ones for customs, Tour ADs at $200 upcharge isnt bad, neither is velocore ventus for $250. Problem is, heaviest option is 70g stock or upcharge.  Only free 70g shafts are Kbs TD, hzrdus black, and the non velocore. No 80g class.

Oh the 7w is amazing. Highly recommend.

266 out and a little breeze off the right to a pretty protected green complex on my 2nd shot on the par 5 7th hole yesterday. Lineup a little right of the green and hit a perfect shot with the 7w. Nice mid flighted draw that landed just on the green and rolled about 20ft past the hole to setup my first eagle of the year.

@radiman For us humans out there🤣that don’t hit 7 woods 266(!) the hybrids are quite nice as well.  My bag is starting to look like Freddie Couples’ with the 3,4, & 5 hybrid replacing the long irons.  Super easy to hit solid with much higher trajectory than this 68 year old hits his long irons.

I always find it interesting how some like the more lofted woods and some prefer hybrids.

I've definitely been more in the hybrid camp, but since I've spent a bit more time with the 7 wood it's quickly becoming my favorite club in the bag.  Some pretty bad swings have stayed playable.

One of these days, I think I may actually get to play golf on a nice day lol.

45° +\- the whole round. But at least wind wasn’t terrible. Dynapwr LS was pretty great today. Just feels so very solid at impact.

I am pretty much settled into the Diamana WB 73TX in it now too. The LinQ Red just has me launching it too high with a tendency to turn over a lot more than I’d like.

Zero interest in putting anything else in its place. I am curious on how the 9° Dynapwr LS would stack up. But otherwise, I’m more than happy with the driver.

For those of us unlike @radiman that are more distance challenged and are playing hybrids/fairways rather than longer irons the hybrids are a bit easier, imo, to flight lower when necessary.

I’m not speed or distance challenged by any means myself (I’d feel comfortable hitting Dechambeaus bag) but something about the look of a strong lofted hybrid at address has me curious to explore a strong hybrid. I’d also like to add something a bit higher launching to that gap area of my bag.

Totally agree @DTorres.

And hear you @Shilgy - I prefer the 7W BECAUSE of the flight characteristics, but its generally my approach on Par 5s so I need that height.

Hey testers.  Sorry if I missed this in the tread but are the Staffs the same size as the Srixon or Cobra blades?  Srixon seems to be a little bigger and more forgiving than the Cobras.  I gamed the Cobras a few years ago but was considering going back to the Srixons.  What I'm reading is know making me looking at the Staffs.  Haven't played those since high school.  Thanks

Unsure on the cobras but Im pretty sure the staffs are much smaller than the srixons. Even the cb is a very compact head.

Definitely smaller than the Srixon.  Cobra has a pretty compact head in their Tour CB and MB.  I think I would have to look at them side by side to say which is definitely smaller.  But, it's pretty close. Wilson is a thinner topline and sole however.  That I think I can say pretty confidently.
