I made this kind of as a joke, but much closer to the emoji below than what you have up there:

If that's true then you're likely doing what many players do with a grip change - fiddling at address until it's comfortable. That usually means reverting to the old grip. I've seen this countless times, and most of the time the player is barely aware that they're doing it.

It should end up (kinda) like the emoji hand too. After a swing.

I think that’s the case 🤪

As when I take the club away the new grip feels really awkward so I don’t think it’s subconsciously fully regressing back to the old grip. Plus I have seen ball flight and path changes, so if I am gripping it the same not sure that would happen. Will try and get the videos iacas requested today.

By the way, just played in the first official tournament of the season, the SCGA Senior Foursomes (alternate shot). My partner and I took third against some extremely strong teams. I played very well but too big miscues on my part cost us the win.

Obee's comment was definitely tongue in cheek, Ray. You're definitely not gripping it properly to be looking like that, so what's happened is you've changed it enough to be awkward, but not enough to be correct.

The ruler is the better of the two:

 

 

You can see how far it is from the wrist (green line) and how little "pinkie finger" exists on that side of it (red line, tough to see, right image).

 

The shaft you grip too far into the fingers:

 

 

When you "roll up" your hand, you keep it into the index finger but push it up the pinkie finger. Grip it closer to the yellow line at the base of the fingers. Perpendicular to the fingers, parallel to the knuckles. Gripping it this far into the fingers angles it when your pinkie rolls up.

At the yellow line at the base of the fingers is close to where I was before going down this path of changing my grip. So I guess it was a small adjustment when people were saying I hadn’t made enough of a change!!!

Yes I know you said I had to work on my grip and thank you for all of the observations and suggestions. My point is that the adjustment was smaller than I thought it was as i then went too far into the fingers. I have been saying all along where I initially grip it and what it looks like in the position you keep referencing are two different things, however you haven’t wanted to acknowledge any of that, until today you commented that it “angles” and that is probably what I was trying to suggest but didn’t know how to express it. 
 

Anyways, I will work on it running straight down the base of the fingers.

I haven't seen a grip that's been close. My post on February 19 covered the "angles" and the grip being parallel to the knuckles, perpendicular to the fingers, along the base of the fingers.
