The KSigs have a near cult following. That's clear by the reprimand I received by someone simply from comparing my experience with the MM with my experience with the KSig in the red stripe thread, after already stating that I like the latest KSig. It will take a while for the MM to catch on to any large degree I'm sure. Plus, it's possible that that the MM won't quite catch on with the Upper Lower class golfers like the Costco ball just because of how some perceive Costco vs Sam's. Personally, I just want the best ball at the best price. I'm liking the Sam's ball a bit better than the Costco ball. In fact, at this point I'd say I like it every much as my Vice Pro Plus. I'll probably stock a tote to keep on hand just in the event that they would disappear due to lawsuits, lack of demand, etc. I'm sure I could play it for a while.

I'm nearly the same hdcp as you and I can't tell much difference among balls to be honest. I just want something that will go  a predictable distance when I hit good short game shots. The RS feels odd to me, the cover specifically, but no on-course performance complaints.  I don't have a Sam's membership so I'll wait til I find some of those. Otherwise, I play whatever urethane balls I find. Mostly ProV1, the forest has an unlimited supply.   Kirkland's I keep if they are 100% unscuffed. Otherwise I leave them for the next guy.

Yep, I think the same guy reprimanded me two years+ ago when I said the Silver Stripe spun like a top and was a terrible ball.  The vast majority of reviewers agreed with my assessment.

A little after last Christmas, I talked about how the Red Stripe performed well, but shredded when struck well with a wedge.  I got a reprimand from the same guy despite the fact that I doubted he had even played the new ball yet.  I wouldn't mind trying the MM ball, but I think the nearest Sam's Club is 600+ miles away.  I did find one a few months back and didn't know what it was.  I tossed it in a tree well for somebody else to find.  I wish I had hit it now.

if it's anything like the Vice Pro plus I'll be all over it, especially if they release a yellow version!!

Good luck with that, anybody playing a ball from Sams club will spend over a hour per hole to look for it.

It's funny, but it's not really true--at least in my case. What I love about the Sam's ball is that I don't cry over it. I don't feel any compulsion whatsoever to spend time looking for a ball that is clearly OB/lost. Now I play with a couple of those guys, but they aren't Sam's/KSig players. They are the guys who, on every hole with trouble, have their retrievers out or are walking in the woods looking for stray Chromesofts & versions of Pro V1's. As long as the course isn't busy, that doesn't bother me at all. Heck, at $5/ball an argument can be made for the effort unless it is holding others up.

For me, it is all about finding the ball that plays well for me at the best price. I have plenty of Pro V1's, but also have Vice Pro + and now som MM and KSigs. I just happen to really be appreciating the feel and playability of the MM.

Lots of great options in the golf world these days. spacer.png

Friend gave me a sleeve of these recently and after reading some reviews, decided to give them a try for 36 holes at the Philadelphia Cricket Club a week before the Truist. Course is in amazing condition and the one ball I used performed great (only needed 1 cause it didn't scuff at all). It was a morning 18 followed by an afternoon 18... all walking. Usually during work outings we play scrambles, but they don't want everyone hitting from the same spot, so we were able to play our own ball all day! I switched between the members mark and a left dash prov1x and both balls performed great. The proV was a hair firmer, spun a hair less, and went a hair further off the tee, but that wasn't necessarily good on all the holes. The members mark was my choice for par 3's and I would've preferred it for any of my feel shots. I ended up shooting even par in the morning 18 and then -6 on the afternoon 18. Seems to be a solid ball and I think our caddy was completely baffled that he had a guy who was 6 under par and kept throwing him a Walmart ball to clean.

I bought a pack and played 2 rounds with them.  I like them and will buy another 2-3 packs the next time I need steaks.

I don't have spin numbers or anything technical, but they were very comparable to my normals ball: Snell MTB-X with a softer feel.  I felt like they might've been a touch longer and held the greens just fine, but again, no hard data.

I did not notice any durability issues other than scuff from the cart path.

If anyone is looking for a free one to play: I lost one in the left trees on Oak Grove number 7 and 16 over my two rounds.

Anyone with a ss of 105-110 off the driver know how the members mark ball has been off the tee?

I swing about 118 and it was fine. It’s definitely on the firmer side, but not left dash or triple diamond firm. My gamer balls are srixon diamond and prov1x and the mm was further off the tee than the diamond. I was able to spin it, hit it low, and hit it high. No discernible difference from a prov1x. I’m interested in testing on this cause they felt and performed way better than I would expect from a basically $1 ball.

This ball is great.  I cannot feel any difference between a ProV1X, Snell X, and the M.  I have a huge stock of Snell Balls to burn though, but I hope this ball sticks around for a long time because I'll play it once my stash is gone.

MM ball is my new full time ball.  Admittedly, I am a borderline hack.  Typically shoot 82-87.    I like it better than the Kirkland ball due to the feel of it.  It just feels, to me, a tad softer.  Feels pretty similar IMO, to a Q Star Tour (although the Q is a tad softer) or a Vice Pro Plus.  My LM numbers were very good with this ball as well.  Spin off of driver is in the right "window" and they spin plenty enough around the greens.  Feel good off of the putter as well.  Just a very good ball overall, for me.

I can't justify spending $40-$50 a dozen on the high end balls as a 10-12 HDCP.  $28 for two dozen balls is just an astounding value.

For those of you who would say  "I would never play a MM ball or a Costco ball" - well good for you.  You go ahead and waste money on a ball that is marginally better, if at all, and for the vast majority of you... shoot scores like me.  Now for you elite golfers, the scratch, the plus handicaps or super low handicaps.... maybe your ProV will save you .3 strokes per round.  Maybe not, I don't know.

It's a great ball, and an even better value.

I shoot similar scores and I'm just about out of my Vice Pro's that I had previously bought from Sam's about 2 years ago.  Unfortunately these haven't hit either of our local Sams yet and I don't want to have to pay for shipping.  I am going to Myrtle Beach on our yearly family vacation at the end of June and did see the Sam's down there has them in stock.  I will likely just pick up some up on the way to our VRBO coming in.  Looking forward to giving them a try.

Played a couple rounds with this ball and the best I can say is it is ok.

However, today and I tested chipping and putting with this ball and the Callaway Chrome Soft (gamer).  Without a doubt, this ball is fine when chipping and compares well; however, with putting it was consistently short of the Callaway Chrome Soft when both balls were struck with equal force.  So there would definitely have to be some adjustment in your putting stroke if you switched to this ball.

In my opinion, it would definitely impact my score negatively... at least for a while.  I think I'll stick with the Chrome Soft.

These threads baffle me. You will spend thousands on exotic clubs, custom fittings, and launch monitors, then buy cheap, badly made balls. Like owning a Ferrari and putting 40 year old tyres on and expecting grip like 2025 P-Zeros.

Except 99% of golfers would see no change in their scores using these balls versus a Pro V1.

I've played the Kirkland pretty much exclusively for the last three or four years and have now gone through two dozen of the Sam's balls and really can't tell much difference.

The Sam's ball might be just a tad softer but I can't really say that for sure.  Sometimes I think it is and other times not so much.

I'm old now and only swing driver in the 90's but I've compared both of these balls side by side and also with the Pro V1 and 1X as well as the Q Star Tour and Bridgestone RS and find that the distance is equal to somewhat better with the Kirkland and Sam's and I notice no difference whatsoever with the irons or short game.

I really don't care about the price of any golf equipment and buy whatever I want whenever I want (and do it frequently) but I just can't see any reason to spend more than double on golf balls when I see no advantage in any way with the higher priced balls.

If I did I'd have a garage full of Pro V's or whatever I found to be better without hesitation but that's just not the case.  🤷‍♂️

I would do nothing you suggest. My irons were $650 new. The other clubs I bought used, except the putter. No one I play with would score better with expensive golf balls.

Can you do a review showing how badly made the Kirkland and MM balls are?

You played PCC with a warehouse brand ball? Probably grounds for a suspension.

I still have not seen a MM in the wild.  Find Kirklands all the time,  incl new red stripes.
