7W has been the best decision I've made for my game, took the driving iron out, off the turf is my 215-225 club, off the tee it carries 230-235sh, I have the Ai Smoke TD (20*), i truly enjoy all my clubs but the 7W is possibly my favorite club in the bag...

Just go with a hybrid. I dropped the 7W for this very reason. I tend to deliver a bit extra dynamic loft and hit a high fade. Any breeze into and my 215 yard 7W feels like it loses 25+ yards. Completely stalls out. I'm now playing G430 3H & 4H. I think the 3H is like 1/4 or 1/2" long to give me just a smidge more spacing between my two hybrids. No doubt a hybrid will fly flatter and spin less.

I feel like with the attention that 7 and even 9 woods are getting....there is a slim chance of Callaway releasing a 23 or 24° UW in the US. Would be nice wouldn't it. 

 

If they do, hope they make it flatter than the Japan 23*.  It's not 100% a lock I could get any local shops to bend it.

 

I'm looking at the TSR1 hybrid 23, TSR7 wood (maybe it spins less?).  Wilson has a new 7w that's supposed to cut some spin but it may be hard to actually locate one to demo.

I'm in the same boat.   Played and loved 7w except when playing into the wind, and found a 3h to work better.   

 

Living where afternoon winds aren't as much of a sure thing as they once I may revisit the 7w and hang onto the hybrid for those kind of days/places.

I strongly recommend the new srixon 7 wood over the Titleist 7 wood for anyone hunting.  I personally had the tsi2 7 wood before it got replaced and sold.

I’ve been struggling with the top end of my bag for quite a while now. Decided to try a 7w and it’s a game changer. Averages ~210, but can step on it and get it to 220 when I’m using it off the tee. Highly recommend giving it a shot!

I have a 7 wood, and I hit it pretty good, but there really are no 7 woods shots on my home course. I use a 4 hybrid, or 5 wood for lay ups.

Have a Ping G430 Max 7 wood in the bag and just grabbed a used G430 9 wood off 2nd Swing.  Bit of a shaft issue with the one I bought (my fault for not reading description closely) so gonna fix that and try hitting it!

G430 7 wood is exactly this, straight off the rack. 
 

Launches it a mile in the air, easy to turn over and feels like an absolute butter knife through rough. 
 

It is kind of crazy the utility of a 7 wood, once you get confident with it. Can absolutely throttle one off the tee, out of the fairway, use it to chop stuff out of rough and advance, and take a little off with a smoothie. 
 

I replaced my hybrid with one and it is ridiculous how much more effective it is.

I own the current srixon fw wood models in 3 and 7 and previous model in 5 wood.  Previously all of these were titleists that got replaced (ts, tsi, tsr, gt).  The Srixon, simply stated, are better across the board for me.  Performance has been shockingly better (I'm a 2 handicapper for reference) as far as consistency and are more forgiving on off center shots.  My misses are tighter dispersion.  Srixon feel like they launch higher and hotter.  I also enjoy their matt black crown finish more, think it leads to better contact for me.

 

I do wish Srixon would release a 4 wood though.

Currently I'm playing a TSi3 4W with a Ventus Red 6S. Very hot when nutted but not that forgiving. I did not get the TSi2 because it had significantly less ball speed than the 3 (same with the driver). At some point this season I might gong show newer offerings. I think fw woods are the most finicky to fit, as evident by pros who hang on to their favorite fw woods longer than other clubs.

then my irons start with Srixon ZX5 5i which is 24* I believe. (I have a ZX5/7 combo iron set)

 

I want a 5w or 7w but I'm guessing to do so, i need to kick my 23* and 5i out of the bag. or keep the 5i for different shots. I don't mind my hybrid as i hit it well.

Other than the utility shaft being a little bit longer than your 5 iron, seems a bit redundant to have a 23° utility and 24° 5 iron. Kind of logical to kick one of those out of the bag and throw a 7w in.

I'm considering replacing my 3h with a 7 wood, but concerned they might be too high with wind.

Also would they go about the same distance, considering the hybrid is lower flight and run out?

GT2 16.5* in A1 setting - between shafts

Stealth 2 (21*) 7 wood - Rogue 110 70 stiff (my 220 club)

T200 4 iron with AD Di Hybrid shaft

P-7CB 5-PW coming

 

I would say my only issue with bonded 7wds is that they tend to be closed to counteract a slice, so either get an adjustable or check the club in person before you buy it. Also it needs to spin the right amount ie not too low, for what it should be used for i.e high apex and soft landing.

Just built up my 7 wood and so far it is impressive in the sim. And might be just the club to allow me to drop my 4 iron and UW, and that really surprises me. 

 

That will allow my to have a similar setup and retain my mini...D, MiniD, 4w, 7w, 5-PW.

i bought a 7hybrid in 2023 after really struggling with 5, 6 and 7 irons mid season. Swapped it for a 6 hybrid last year and took the 5 iron out of the bag. 
 

my distances are:

7i: 160

6i: 159 to 170

6h: 175

 

I might swap the  6i for the 5i and replace the 6h for a 5h. 80% of the time, my 6i isn’t really going further than 7i. 5i goes at least further. Or maybe trying to change the loft, currently +2 on all irons. Maybe 0 or -2 could help with the 6. 

 

Or lessons. Maybe I need lessons. 

 

Or maybe I need more clubs. I think it’s the clubs.
