Picked up the Newport 2. Been putting with a modern Ping Anser 2 and started rolling it really well after I worked on my setup / stroke (copying Tiger of course). Decided I wanted to upgrade to a blade and the feel on this thing is amazing.

 

Edit: my other putter is a Oz.1i Broomstick... about as opposite as you can get! haha I like variety

Been looking at this too. I like the slight toe hang and the single bend gives an better view of the leading edge IMO.

I am impressed with this putter.

I would recommend giving it a consideration.  Just delivers a very consistent roll.  Have made a fair amount  of putts, better than expected.

I just picked up a Fastback and strangely, find it difficult to scoop up golf  balls… It kind of glides under the ball and it rolls over the top of the face. Takes a bit more skill than my anser style.

It's a silly thing, but I've benched putters before because I couldn't pick up a ball with them. One of those needs in a putter that I didn't realize I wanted it until I didn't have it.

Picked up a Newport 2 the other day and I absolutely love it! I’ve been really hunting for a putter that not only functions well for me but has the right feel and balance. This putter checks every box for me.  I never wanted to be a Scotty fan boy and do own one other that I got in a trade but never sold but I saw it and and really liked the looks of it and said well let’s just try it out. I even spent an entire hour at the pga store trying each one out.

 

I used it for the first round today and I putted the best I ever have in the two years I’ve been playing. Out of the whole round I had 13 two putts, 4 one putts and only one 3 putt. Most of the two putts are because I can’t get my chip shots close enough to the pin. But being that im a mid handicap Im happy to be able to 2 putt or less from anywhere on the green and occasionally just off the green. 
 

Anyway, if anyone is curious about getting one I’m a fan. I’ve tried out several other Scotty’s in the past and can say this one feels different than any other. I’ve seen complaints about the chain link milling but I personally dig it. Feel wise it feels a bit head heavy compared to previous Newport 2s. It’s also a lot softer off the face and has a bit softer sound as well. I wouldn’t say it’s so soft that you lose that feeling and feedback but it’s soft enough to just feel smooth. To me it’s all around very well balanced.

I'm about to order the LA Golf Soho .390 over-hosel shaft: https://lagolf.com/products/p-soho-series-1. Nearly certain that is the correct fit.

Actually ordered it new with the pistolini. Kept the same length as ordered at 34.5 inches with 15 gram weights. Swingweight stayed around the same as the stock steel shaft at E1.

I'm going to try to cleanly pull the full contact slim and pop it on the LAGP shaft. LA Golf shipping takes some time, but I will share a photo when I finish the build.

How are you finding the Fastback 1.5?  It was brilliant for me on SAM Puttlab, but didn’t do so well when I got it onto the putting green.  I’m undecided on the insert and looking at a Toulon Alcatraz Mini as an alternative.  I do really like the perpendicular alignment though!

I love it! But I guess everyone always likes the new putter.  Been using it since the end of April and have never putted better. Alignment is perfect and the line on the top line is my preferred alignment.  I like the insert but have always liked insert putters.  It is firmer than I expected. Was previously on the lab train for a few years.

Beautiful. I am toying with a UST All in Retro in a fastback. But, cutting that shaft gives me nerves.

Have you found any difference in feel since you swapped the shaft?  I've just been listening to a podcast with Bruce Rearick where he was talking about how stiffer shafts can "firm up" the feel of the putter face.  I didn't like the insert so wondered if a shaft change could be the answer.  I've got a Stability Carbon in my Atlanta at the moment and it certainly gives good feedback on the quality of contact.

Even before the shaft change this insert is one of the firmer inserts I have felt.  But yes, stiffer shafts usually firm up the feel.  Not sure if the shaft will be enough if you didn't like the feel to begin with.  Also, ball dependent but I do feel it is firm.
