2025 Maxfli Tour/X/S Reviews

tried the 25 Tour X for the first time, feels a little bit harder than the 23, but seems to perform pretty much the same after one round. I'm coming off an oblique injury, and have a small hernia, so swinging a little slower right now, SS showed 108 driver warming up, but still got really good distance and roll from the ball. A little rusty with the irons, so didn't hit a ton of greens, but when I did, they checked up nicely.

Got 9 holes in yesterday to test out the Maxfli

These are 1st impressions and I will need more testing to figure out if this ball is going to work for me

First off the ball feels great, off the irons or a putter, it feels like a ball twice the price.

Can really compress the ball off the driver or my irons.

Good action on the greens when chipping.  I can spin it almost at will and it rolls really nice off the putter

I will say, it is a short ball. I was 10 yds shorter than my TP5x off the driver and a half club shorter off the irons

I thought because I had was playing with an x ball, that was it, so I switched to a Wilson Triad after a few holes

Same result off the driver and the irons

Not a big deal with the irons as I can adjust what club to hit, but the driver distance is concerning

I will say that it has been pretty wet here the last few days and the course is soaked even though nothing plugged yesterday I would like to try them when it is dry to see what kind of roll I get with the driver.

Maxfli rolled a slightly more than both the balls I tested when I hit my irons into the green.  Again nothing earth shattering. I'm talking 6-12 inches more at the most

Maybe I need to try the x ball instead of the regular tour ball

Not sure, but if these results hold, this ball is not for me

Which is too bad because the price is right

Try the X.  I find the X to be the longest of the MaxFli Tour versions.  And you don't sacrifice green side spin.

I saw no distance loss compared to the ProV1 or Z Star XV. ~120 SS. In fact I almost felt the Maxfli Tour was longer than both.

Ok, I take it back.  I gave the Tour X another try today.  5 birdie day and it did everything I wanted it to do.  Handled the wind fine, nice spin around the greens, flighted wedges, and plenty long.  It’s a legit ball.

I just did a ballnamic fitting, and it basically scored the same as my Tour BX gamer. I’m going to Dick’s and try a dozen. I’ve had the Tour BX CT X, and lately been testing the Mizuno Pro X but if I can get the same performance at half the price I’d be silly for not doing it.

Exactly.  And they score very well for quality control.  I really enjoy the Max Align pattern.  It’s effective without being obnoxious.

I put the Maxfli Tour in  play on Sunday with my normal group and the ball was really good

I did not notice any major distance loss like when I did a head to head testing with my TP5

I was playing from my normal positions that I do when I play my home course.

I will say the feel of the ball is wonderful

Off the irons and driver and especially around the greens and off the putter

I do like the fact that I can spin this ball almost at will on chips around the green

Very responsive

Flies high and lands soft and did not back up on the greens

The greens were very soft after being punched and rain on earlier in the week

I played all 18 holes with one ball and it looks like I could play another 18 holes with it

Held up great

The alignment lines are very good, much better than the arrows

This is the best version of a Maxfli ball I have ever played

Still want to try the x model and then make a decision

Also want to give the Mizuno ball a go

I hope they offer it on the yellow ball at some point. Would save me some sharpie time

I hate sharpie'ing my balls before playing (lol) . Usually, if I sharpie a ball before I tee off, its straight into someone's backyard or the water... every damn time.

I was hoping they would release the max alignment on the 48 pack but I dont think thats coming

Got to test out the Maxfli x for a few holes yesterday before the weather got bad

Definitely a flatter ball flight off the woods and the tee

Hard to judge distance and spin as the course was pretty wet

So far I will have to say that what I have seen has been very impressive

Only drawback I have is it feels like a rock off the putter

I am sure its something I can get use to

Looking forward to really putting it through its paces this weekend, if I can get out with the weather and work.

Was able to test the Tour X yesterday. I compared it to 3 other balls that I like, Tour BX, CT X, and Mizuno Pro X. Off the tee, it’s long. It was with the Tour BX and Mizuno Pro X off the driver, and was past them in a couple holes. Off the irons it does feel a bit firmer, but not clicky. It had a bit less spin than the others, but still checked, just had 6-8ft more rollout. Durability was good as well. Around the greens it was good, plenty of spin and control. For me, I find it feels and performs very similarly to the ‘25 TP5X. I’ll be testing it more this weekend, but it’s a really good ball and great value.

Interestingly, I tried to apply the $20 while I was physically in the store and the system would not accept it. The manager said it was because the $20 could not be applied to something that was already discounted.

So I walked outside, placed the order on the app and then walked back in to pick up my order 😉

I wonder if its one of those "online only" discounts but either way, you won, lol

2024 TP5X user, long time ProV1 user prior to that.  Needed something with a little more height and spin, at the suggestion of my pro and friends, I gave the TP5X a try.

I am so damn tired of losing 2-3 balls on a bad round (now $10-15) that I decided what the hell, let's try the Maxfli Tour X.

Played it yesterday and no noticeable differences from TP5X to Tour X.  Felt about the same off the putter.  Maybe a touch more spin on lower irons and wedges (Which is great when greens are firm, but Western PA has been damn near the rainforest this summer).

I'll continue to play!

It’s the same for me. If I couldn’t see the label in the ball I couldn’t tell which ball was which. Guys are buying 4dz for $100 and that’s an insane value.

I loved the last iteration of the Maxfli tour X ball and was hesitant to try the new one. Gotta say the new one is even better. A little firmer off the putter, but I was putter switching anyhow and threw an older two ball in the bag and the white hot insert combined with the new X feels amazing. Distance seems a touch better, spins maybe a touch more despite the firmer feel, all around I am a convert! Now gotta figure out what to do with the 2 four packs of the old ball I just bought!

I am a huge Srixon xv divide fan this year been going back and forth with those and the new tspx balls decided to try maxfli tour x due to sale.  First time out all I can say is WOW I have never been this impressed with a ball I picked up a 5-10 yrds thru out bag ball just wants to go straight great stopping power on approach and spin an chips about the same I hope it was not a fluke
