Long time vokey here too. Callaway wedges always looked off to me too. Opus wedge looks better to my eye. Not the best picture but can you tell the difference...

RTZ sets up nice I agree.  I found the SM10 to be better to my eye but RTZ is no slouch.  One of my buddies just got a 56* and 60* as he agreed with you when comparing the two.  He hit the RTZ better from what I saw, more consistent contact.  I was the opposite.  SM10 was better for me.

I have been a long time vokey user and decided I'm ready for a change. I'm going to be testing the Callaway Opus wedges vs. The Bettinardi HLX 6.0. Weather has been garbage here so looking forward to getting both outside and getting some work in. I will say that the Bettinardi wedges is a looker!

I came from Vokeys and feel that the toe isn't near as raised as any of the Jaws series, but more compact in a beautiful way. Biggest thing is the feel and sound.. it's a deeper and more solid sound than the Vokeys had. Those were my last two standing, and had to go Opus. I just found the experience to be better.

You have Platinum? Talk about sound and feel.  Regular Opus has great feel to it (subjective) but Platinum took it to a new level.  The lefty Platinum options stink though.

I don't, I was considering it on a lob but decided on the regular to have the T grind - though the 60 Z grind would have been sick.

Gotcha. I have the t grind in SM10 and really like it. I like my SM10 d 58 too, but I'm over here debating on opus 58. I like them that much.

 

Haven't seen z grind in person.

The T grind in Callaway is sort of like the K Star grind - like a low bounce K with the heel and toe relief, 6* in bounce and not 4. it's been pretty fun to practice with, but haven't played a round with it yet. I will Saturday!

Nice.  Report back if you think of it.  Are you in Texas?  If so, you play in much different conditions I imagine (compared to Ohio where I am).

I really do think the Miura HB wedges I got from Will Peoples are the best wedges I’ve ever played. The weighting, the grind, the bounce and most importantly the feel. Coming from a long time vokey user I can’t get over how good these wedges are.

Just got back from a quick short game chip and pitch.  Was trying different balls (left dash, Cally 3 diamonds, my user 2023 Pro V1x).  Took my SM10 58d and 61t grind.  Fluffy lies, tight, fringe, hardpan (was wet so meh), flops.  The T grind is just beautiful from tight lies, fringe shots.  Just glides under the ball.  D grind was also very very good from the thicker rough around the green.  Just gets the ball up and out.  Think I will like these.  Im still debating adding another Opus Platinum in the 58 and having a LW shootout but for now I will roll with the SM10.  They really spin the ball nicely in all situations.

Since 2017 & SM6 then SM9 and now SM10 a Vokey guy.  I still ponder going back to forged, but as I type this, I don't have the inclination to start over learning the behavior of new wedges.  Maybe Vokey will come out with a forged set, but suspect that will be a cold day in he**.  LOL

Vokey has been making forged wedges in Japan for 20+ years.

I sure will. Yes, I'm in TX so have medium to firm conditions most of the time, which make this grind make sense. The tour issue S400s give it such a nice low launching heavy feel that is so good in a wedge to me.

I have full face TM Hi Toe's on my 54 and 58. The 54 is new so TBD on that one but the 58 is very good around the greens, especially greenside rough and bunkers.

I played SM10 last year, the Cobra's feel great and are as good as anything else. The low wide bounce is great out of traps and around the green.

Back on the wedges, they've been incredible in many practice situations, and am so excited to get them on the course. I was also recently fitted for the Chrome Tour X, so it feels like Callaway is slowly taking over my bag - the Apex line of irons is so sexy and tempting!

Well, wrx and my feeble will power got me. I have an opus 58 s grind coming to battle with the SM10 d grind. Had too much trade in discount to pass up. The 54 is firmly in the bag, we'll see what wins the 58!

Love it! The S grind was awesome in a lob - I was swinging the 60.10 S comfortably, more comfortable than any Vokey 60 I've ever played - but thought I could really utilize the versatility of the T grind especially since I came from many years of a Vokey M grind. It also was going to work well with the firmer ground we have in TX, and especially traveling to firm places like west Texas and New Mexico to play.

Good to know. S is great for me in 54 having played it in vokey and now opus. I love my SM10 t grind that's bent to 61. Hoping for a great duel between the d and s grinds here. Pretty excited about it actually.  You definitely get more baked lies out your way.

I may get an S grind lob for wetter conditions, but haven't decided on that yet. Trying to save for other things, especially an iron fit this year. Super curious about a number of iron lines, esp the Apex Pro/CB/MB and the cobra King Tour/CB/MB. Love the idea of a transitional 4-P set.

Callaway Opus Platinum is MiM technology with tungsten welded to the top back. Sounds pretty good. Seems like a lot of people are liking them too. $229 a club is a lot though. Makes me lean more towards the Cobra King also MiM tech also quite a bit cheaper

I was fit into a set of Cobra King Tec irons just a couple weeks ago. Usually when I get a new set of irons, I try and get wedges from the same manufacturer to match the set, if possible. I've never really liked Cobra's wedges, but I have to admit, I really like the look of the new Cobra King wedges (even the King X wedge looks pretty good) so I might actually pick up a couple to round out the set.

Been playing Vokeys since the 90s. Tried Clevelands for a short period and had to go back to Vokeys. 2025 will still be ok with SM8s with S400 shafts. 
 

The newer Vokeys are very light, but I’ve understood that the JP releases of Vokey wedges are actually forged and possibly heavier? Has anyone ordered forged Vokeys? Any reviews would be appreciated.
