Can't find a comfortable putter grip

I had a period where I tried probably 10 different grips of varying material, size, shape, etc. Like two years ago I randomly threw on a Superstroke tour swing grip and that got me into putting with a round grip. My speed and start lines were so much more consistent because I felt more control. Right now I use an edel round grip and have two more in waiting for whenever I next need a re-grip.

For many years, I longed for a grip that felt similar to the standard PINGman/Golf Pride Tour Tradition and the midsize PP58 but I wanted a grip larger than the PINGman/Golf Pride Tour Tradition but smaller than the midsize PP58. Then came the release of the Golf Pride Pro Only Red Star. This was the grip that I was destined for. I played it for the last few years but at the end of last season, I felt that I was a little too wristy with it.

I wanted something a fraction larger but not as large as the midsize PP58. I took a chance on the Iomic midsize paddle and I’m very happy with it. It falls wonderfully in between the GP Pro Only Red Star and the midsize PP58. If you haven’t tried this grip, I’d recommend giving it a shot.

Lamkin deep etch has a ton of traction if that's what you think you're missing.  I play the large size Sink Fit.

 

TaylorMade GTR pistol is my favorite if I'm going with a more traditional grip.

Have you looked at the 2Thumb grips? They have many options for left hand low but I would suggest the Octo 36 its an 8 sided grip that fits in the life line of your hands which will solve your issue with stability.

I've been a big fan of the Superstroke Flatso grips in the past. The ridge down the back and the somewhat triangular shape seemed to lock in the creases down my knuckles (back ridge) and down my palm near the base of my thumbs (front edges). That kept the club from moving in my hands much, while also not inducing "arc" into my stroke like some pistol grips can. 

I'm currently using a stock Cleveland Huntington Beach Premiere Oversized grip that is more of a pistol shape, but locks my hands in a similar way. I sometimes switch to a claw grip, and that is also very comfortable with both grips.

I have an "old school" 1983 Ping B60 putter and had a full cord PP58 grip put on it, and it changed everything!  So comfortable, so much "feel", it's incredible.  I found my Zen even with an older putter!

I love GripMaster leather grips... the texture of the worn leather makes me almost forget the grip shape.  ...so plus one to the leather suggestion.

I played golf with an older gentleman that used oversized arthritic grips on all of his clubs.

Even the putter.

He seemed to do well with it.

Keep experimenting! You will find one that really suites you. If asked I would say for me! Grips are putter specific. Meaning I like Certain style grips on blades and other styles on mallets, but since I'm a Blade guy my choice's are. Lamkin Deep Etched ( Cord ) I really like the cord grip and it helps gripping lightly. Pingman and Iomic, but recently I tried a 2 Thumbs and really liked it as well, not sure what model but it was one of their slimmer models.

I have the Golf Pride Pro Only Red on my putters and it's been my favorite. I tried the Pro Only Green, but I found it to be slightly too big because I could feel the putter stroke more in my fingers with the slightly larger grip. I use my standard interlock grip that I use with all clubs when putting. Ive played around with different putting grips but my standard interlock yields the best feel and results. I also use an extremely relaxed pendulum stroke where I essentially let the putter head just swing effortlessly instead of trying to "guide or hit" it.

Edel round grip. There's no flat surface on the grip to align to. Very comfortable grip.

I like the $10 Odyssey grip sold at Dicks.  I have small hands that will fit in XS gloves.

Edel round slim. I made the switch a few years ago and haven't looked back.

 

With the round no taper grip you can just place your hands however is comfortable rather than matching your grip to the grip shape.

 

Some might consider this a negative because your hand placement can be inconsistent, but I much prefer being able to align the putter face and then take my grip however is comfortable to release tension in my arms. And it works equally well with any style of grip!

If you use a left hand low grip, the GP Reverse Taper is awesome. Its the best grip Ive used in a long time. They have a few options to pick from as well, round, large, pistol style.

I've played lots of standard (odyssey) pistols and Jumbo Max's 13" big flat counterbalance that didn't make the cut. Both the pistol and JMX 13 didn't feel great "pushing" with my right hand in the through stroke. The ones below give me a better "locked in" feel on the right hand. When shopping for a grip, I've found the left head is comfortable with just about anything. So, I will primarily focus on the right hand feel.

SuperStroke Zenergy Pistol GT 2.0 Putter Grip

It's a bit smaller than what you think of with a SuperStroke. More flat edged pistol. Great in a mallet. Haven't tried it in a blade.

 

Scotty Cameron's 2025 Full Contact Slim Grip

Thought I had moved to thicker grips, but this was on a Studio Fastback mallet and fit my hand perfectly. More oval shave than pistol.

The only reason you would play this is if you armlock, but it is far and away they best armlock grip there is.

You can now buy a Baby T from Cameron custom shop.  The Full Contact slim is nice too.

 

sizewize, BabyT is the smallest, FC slim (red print) is 1mm wider and 1mm deeper in the middle, and regular Full Contact (white print) is 1mm wider and deeper than the slim.

I use the GripMaster Signature Tour Kidskin(calfskin), it's very good for hand placement and is sleeker/narrower too. The sewn stitchback is money for finger placement.

The most comfortable putter grip is the one you stick with. I'd been on the grip merry-go-round searching for the perfect feel for years, and finally landed on one that I'm not going to fuss with: the Iomic i-Classic Midsize Pistol.

The deep pistol section fills up the top hand, but the grip is narrow enough to get my small-ish hands around completely. Excellent rubber texture that seems to be the same tackiness as the day I bought it (six months ago?). Only 72 grams. I don't need anything else in a grip.

Sounds like it may not be the grip itself but how you grip it. I wear L-XL gloves but when I grip the putter my grip pressure is a 3 out of 10 tops and it feels locked in and just flows as I rock my shoulders. I’d look at your grip and how you achieve it to see if there is a flaw there. 
 

as for grips go my favourite at the moment is the Lamkin deep etch. Very close second is the pro only cord red star.
