Wyndham Clark - we in or out?

I'm "out" on Wydhahm Clark.  He seems like he is capable of brilliant streaks of golf, but seems to inconsistent to really be in the mix most of the time.

He totally got crowned at pebble last year when they shortened the event.

 

Seems to be seen/accused as a cheater fairly often. Sort of avoided the P Reed treatment somehow for now. I also get the same vibe from Scheffler though. Scheffler a million times more talented though.

Golf's a frustrating game.  It'd be a lot more frustrating going to jail for some variety of assault. 

 

Hotel's a big, strong guy.  Imagine how fast that driver was moving when he threw it.  Now what if it hit the marshal in the head?  No, he wouldn't have meant to hit him with it, but recklessness like that probably would and should come with some criminal sanction.

 

You just can't do that.  It doesn't matter how frustrated he must be, trying to come back from whichever injury the TPI people were evaluating him for.

I pretty much stopped watching the men’s tour because of the sort of crap he pulled there.

 

Absolute man-child behaviour. The tour is full of multi-millionaire babies right now. 

 

It’s a very frustrating game at times, I get it, but come on. He’s lucky that volunteer wasn’t hurt. Just say an F-bomb under your breath and move on dude.

PGAT needs to suspend him for a tourney or two. Had he hit the volunteer the PGAT would be dealing with a lawsuit and a pretty bad PR nightmare because this guy can’t control his emotions.

Not cool. At all. If into a lake like Rory et al, its not good but maybe ok but that was on another level. Never seen anything like that on any tournament I have been watching on-site.

Normally, when you see them IRL they do take s*** hits with real stamnina.  For the record I aint holy in this aspect, poor golf shots do get to me. But I have yet to throw a club. I've learned from Woody and made what he did a couple of times. The pain is on the guy doing bad.  That seems at least a bit proper.

I think Wyndham’s a legit player just going through a bad stretch. He’s won at Quail Hollow and Pebble plus the US Open. Also contended at Bay Hill, Sawgrass and Harbor Town last year and is a solid putter as well (has been top 20 in SG putting 3 times in the last 6 seasons. Those are all legitimate courses that require a diverse skill set. Potgieter is the definition of a ball speed imposter. 8th in sg off the tee and outside the top 100 in approach and around the green. His only top 10 is at Vidanata world and has 9 MCs this year including 7 out of the last 8.

He has ability as shown by his win at Pebble, but his US Open victory came thanks to Rory getting absolutely sloppy from short range and fairways that were cut wide for reasons no one's ever quite been able to nail down. He got away with a LOT at LACC thanks to the USGA's setup decisions. If it weren't for the Major even his low round and win at Pebble would have just been a little blip that saw him mostly forgotten now.

 

I'll consider him a player when he gets it done again on the big stage.

Does that make it more acceptable to you??? Yeeting a club blindly behind you (in an area where you KNOW there very well could be people) with that much force goes waaaaayyyyy beyond frustration. A baseball player intentionally throwing a bat into the stands like that would absolutely be punished by the team, the league, or both. Same should apply here.

 

Out on Wyndham. Spend more time with the psychologist.
