Lockers are pretty common from corporate offices to the trades.   What happens to any of us if we go in to work, get angry at something happened while we are there, and destroy company property like lockers?

 

I don’t think it matters if you are an employee or an independent contractor working there….

Those lockers were there long before Wyndham was walking on this earth, and they will be there long after he's gone. When all that's left of Wyndham is his name on a piece of metal, those lockers will still be serving their useful purpose to future members and competitors at Oakmont.

I don't think anyone is advocating or defending the destruction of other people's property.

 

I think what is being said is that it's not that serious.

I think holding him accountable to the same standard the rest of us have (we don’t get to destroy property at our jobs, regardless of being an employee or independent contractor) is good enough

Reality is Wydham Clark intentionally destroyed private property while at his workplace.  PGA Tour will most likely suspend and fine him with a warning that if it happens again he's out.

... I often call these guys 2 yr olds. When you are in your terrible two's and things don't go your way (most things don't at that age) you scream and stomp your feet, throw things and break things. By the time you are 5 years old you are beginning to understand how things work and throwing a temper tantrum and especially breaking things just gets you in big trouble and never ends the way you want. It is the beginning of the maturation process. Evidently some of those on tour skipped that part and went straight from 2 yrs old to the tour. 

 

... I have never thrown a club in anger because it is counter productive. Like throwing a pick in college, I didn't slam my helmet on the ground but did my best to figure out why I threw the pick and how to avoid it in the future. I mean it certainly wasn't the helmets fault. And it is never the fault of the club or the ground or a locker. Unless you are 2 yrs old and having a toddler temper tantrum.

... All 2 yr olds throwing a tantrum have very serious passion.  🤪  Having played many sports I have found the best athletes in every venue use but control their passion in a constructive way. The Tiger full body pump comes to mind.
