The TPI Assessment videos are pure gold

The club fitting is separate.  different areas within the same facility.
This is in Oceanside at the main facility with Greg Rose /or staff

The Club fitting part is  $750  -about a 2 month wait..
The Assessment deal is $3k..- about a 4-6 month+wait

I read around a bit and looked on their site a few weeks back just curious the cost with Greg Rose. It was saying he is unavailable for these types of assessments for general public.

From your post it sounds like you may get him but you more than likely will get the “/or staff” if you decided to do the assessment. Don’t think I would pay 3 grand for someone I know nothing about, if that’s the case just look around your area for places closer and cheaper that do tpi assessments.

I checked into the assessment last year and was basically told it was highly unlikely dr rose would conduct the assessment for a non high level amateur/professional/celebrity.

the also reiterated that the cost of the assessment is most correlated to the usage of the facility.  Motion capture, force plates, etc all the technology and data capture.

I think what we see is the way dr rose tells the story of data is unique and insightful, but the outcomes from anyone who’s trained, working there, conducting the assessments will be the same.

They aren’t just hiring some

nobody’s at TPI, so saying someone you don’t know isn’t a concern in my book.

just like going there for a fitting, you may not get anyone you see in some

of their videos but you aren’t going to get some slouch

True, but it’s like getting a lesson at a top notch facility from Butch Harmon or one of his apprentices. Obviously, the lesson with Butch is going to be more expensive vs the other staff. Any place is like that, I use to go to a top 50 teacher at a great facility and he was twice as much an hour vs the others on staff using the same equipment.

I’m just saying I might pay 3 grand for Greg’s services but not another TPI guy there even though they are probably good.

I would spend the 3.000 on a nice golf holiday and make a video of myself to see if I am early extending.

That is one way to look at it.
And not a bad one either...

3k can be justified in the golf world in many ways:

-Some spend this on a single golf trip.
-Some spend this on playing nice courses throughout a few months to a year.
-Some spend this on clubs and equipment
-some spend 10k plus on launch monitors/setups
-Some of the elite spend this almost monthly on dues to their country club ..
-some of the "partyers" spend this on booze/hookers and blow.
-and some spend it on all the above..

I think the 3k is worth it if you are super dedicated and serious.

Right so if $3k doesn’t get you Dr Rose it’s going to cost more for him. The price of the assessment is more about the cost of using the facility than it is the person giving the assessment.

So you’re getting a good quality assessment even though you’re not getting Dr Rose and even before the price increase you weren’t getting Dr Rose either. I would venture a good guess that those doing assessments are getting to learn from Dr Rose

like someone else mentioned in this thread, you have to have some kind of playing status whether college, tour etc. to get an assessment with Dr Rose or become a YouTuber. I bet that’s how it is.  Who knows if he would charge them more than 3 grand. It’s in a very expensive area and the facility is nice.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's almost always quid pro quo or fully comped for better players. Better players showing up new and improved or with holes in their game plugged after a trip to TPI will get them more feet through the door, and a free assessment gets those better players to come in. Even for Youtubers they aren't sponsoring it makes sense to do it for free or for a deep discount given the advertising it brings them, pointed right at the demo most likely to have the funds and be interested in following up what their favorite content creator did.

I'm sure someone or another on their staff sees their vids making the rounds on various sites and forums.

I have wondered about compensation for YouTube personalities and it would be interesting to know how that works.  Hmmm, I imagine that if Jim Nance asked to get an assessment they would break a leg getting him in there.

YouTube has become a rather big deal.  I have not met a single golfer out playing who has heard of wrx but I have met many who watch YouTube videos.  Anyone with some personality and a bit of moxie can become a YouTube star.

The pro I'm seeing for lessons is TPI certified.

At one of our early lessons he put me through a brief TPI assessment. After he submitted the results to TPI I was provided with a link to a set of stretches and exercises meant to address the specific issues that were reflected in the assessment.

Now I have a TPI app on my phone and videos/descriptions of the prescribed program. I've started following this routine each morning (supplemented with a little balance and strength work too).

If you have access to a TPI certified pro this is what you're likely to get from a lesson. Good stuff IMO and there was no additional cost to me.

$750 for the fitting.  Going May 5th.  I have zero Titleist stuff rn except for my bag. Never been fitted before so I think it may help (hope they have Jumbo max tester grips though- may be an issue..)
main thing I want to see is the wedges.  I have no clue on the bounce and grind stuff other then guessing.

I will update this thread/ or another thread (getting to Plus after 50) once I go.

any update, were you able to keep your appointment in May?
