Ordered T250 5i and T150 6-PW

KBS Tour (coming from Dynamic Gold 120s in Ping i230s)

Much better flight, much to do with the shaft change but the T150s feels much better than the Pings.

Interestingly, much more neutral ball flight with the KBS which is good...

Long time Ping/X100 player as well. Finding the same results with the KBS.

Great, thank you! I really like the profile/feel of DG so it may be hard to get away from that. But I also tend to overdraw/hook when I miss. Do you like the profile/feel of the KBS as well?

I went from X100 to KBS C-tapers and it’s fixed my pull draw and brought down flight for me (for now of course). Worth looking in to at a fitting imho.

T350s were making there way to me early this morning "via Omaha" just like the "Uneasy Rider".  For some reason which makes no sense to me, but was confirmed with Titleist when I called the other day to get my tracking number, the retailer I got fit at doesn't have the ability to arrange overnight delivery FedEx from Titleist so I'm on the UPS stagecoach across America (meaning I sit here frustrated the next two days knowing the irons are just sitting around).

Ordered T250’s with KBS Tour (PW/GW 150) on 7/11.

The very second I paid for overnight shipping it was a stone cold lock they’d ship on a Friday at sit at a FedEx hub over the weekend, alas here we are lol

Will have them in hand Monday. Playing really good golf right now with my current 2023 T200’s and fingers crossed the 250’s are as good or a tick better.

That’s what I am wrestling with.  Seems the difference between 100 and 150 are minimal at best.  Even the 100’s now have the foam filled channel in the longer irons, so that difference has been minimized.  If I strengthened the lofts of the 100, to create a bit more offset, they seem like they would be very, very close to each other

Here the question I ask.  If you hit the t100s do they fly far enough and through the right window?  If so get them.

The t150 is really for somebody that could play the t100 but wants a little more ball speed and launch.  They arent more “forgiving”.  They just go a little higher and farther.

t250 is where you have to go for some measurable forgiveness

I'm in Omaha too  and I don't know what retailer you purchased from, but I bought mine directly from Titleist and they were shipped overnight to me.  Seems strange that the retailer could not provide you with overnight service.

Austad's in Sioux Falls, SD.  Latest update shows the irons landed about 40 miles away but will sit the weekend, lol.  I know where I'll be about 15 minutes after they arrive at my house around 6 pm on Monday.  Maybe something about their retailing agreements - I could have just taken the specs from the fitting and ordered direct from Titleist but didn't seem like the thing to do.

Got my first round in with the irons today. I only hit the 150 5 iron because of a horribly blocked tee shot but the t100’s got some play. As others have mentioned feel and sound are greatly improved over the prior generation. Distance and trajectory felt the same but I did notice the club got through the turf a lot easier. Overall nice round and I got to put the new putter into play today too.

I’m really looking at picking up a set of T350s from 7i-PW to pair with my GT series 4-6 hybrid.

ill wait for some on course reviews and feedback before pulling the trigger but they seem to fit my needs on paper better than my 770s

First round with t100 and the are way easier to play than the s3s.  S3 feels better and does really get through the turf better but that’s where it ends.

I missed one green today and that cause the ball hit in the green and took a hard kick left.  Got away with some thin shots that would have been short with the s3 but was ended up on the green.

Turf interaction was great.  Nice clean divot and not stickiness.  Sole is a vast improvement for me

t100 will be the gamers and I will probably trade the s3 in on some x forged cbs

Huh, those 250s look a little more chonk then I thought from the original photos.

That 7 iron looks wide as hell. Might just be the angle of the picture.

I was thinking I might go with a T150/T250 blended set but since ball striking is my weak point and having less time to practice, I may go with a full set of T250’s. I haven’t seen these in hand yet. Is the sole width of the T250 the same, narrower or wider than the T200?

The muscle channel is limited to the 3 and 4 irons in the T100 vs extending to the 7 iron in the T150. Additionally aside from the minimal loft differences and slightly thinner top line/sole (there may also be a slight difference in CG), the T100 and T150 are very close.

I've got a question for anyone with a blended set as I am thinking of getting a blended set of T-150 and T-250's.

Backstory

I'm a bit of an odd golfer as I enjoy hitting irons more than woods or hybrids. My current set of clubs (excluding driver and short game) is T-200 2-iron, Mizuno Hot Metal 919 4i-PW. I enjoy the setup but I want to get back into Titleist irons. I obviously want some forgiveness on those longer iron shots to help shrink the miss and my planned blended set was going to be T-350 2-iron, T-250 4-7i, and T-150 8i-PW. I do plan to be fit for the clubs to ensure I get the correct shaft, but most places I've called where I can be fit only have a 6i or possibly a 7i for the fitting.

The Research

I'm a bit of a data and stat nerd. I made a spreadsheet of all the new clubs and also watched nearly every YouTube fitting video and carefully plotted all the distances adjusted for swing speeds. The majority of these fittings only used a 6i and/or 7i. Also to note one of the videos where I obtained data was using a robot instead of a person to swing the club and that data is favored as it's more consistent than human swings.

My Situation

From my very unofficial data it appears with my swing speed the T-250 7i would have a distance of ~170 which is a tiny bit shorter than what I hit now, but I'm not worried about chasing distance. My concern is the switch to the T-150 8i. My data plot suggests I would hit that club ~153yds. The gap between 7i and 8i is much too big. I know the T-150's could be bent strong, but the model switch concerns me.

My Question

For those with a blended set, are you noticing a larger than normal gap between the clubs where the model switches? Did you have the loft's adjusted on any of your clubs to close that gap? Are you happy with the blended set or do you wish you had kept with all one model of iron?

Thanks in advance!

This is great to hear. I’m in between getting the S3’s or new T100. I’ve only hit the old T100 and S3 in a fitting bay and both are great, albeit S3 is so much softer. Difficult to really tell apart without hitting outside on a grass range.

Will most likely go T100 4i-PW bent 1 degree weaker to get back to the ‘modern traditional’ lofts. Probably stick to the project x 6.0 which I’ve been gaming in my MP20’s for the last 6 years.

Neither iron has tungsten or muscle channel in the 8 and 9

Not really.  But if you play on playing the t150 from 7 iron up it really doesn’t make sense to play the t100 and bend them strong to better blend lofts

Just angle. They aren’t any thicker than than the last gen to me and I have both. Very easy to look at, I’d even wager long irons on T250 have less offset too. These things are rocket launchers but very predictable, I’m a huge fan already.

I don’t think anyone can predict that or evaluate that versus your calculations.  You need to hit them to find out

I started my T100’s at 7 mostly based on what suited my eye. Performance wise the numbers were very similar. I like the 150’s in 4-6 for a little extra pop and height.

They ALL look so much better bent weak too. Reduced offset makes each model look even better. I was fit at TPI into the 250 4i 2° weak, 150 5-6 2° weak and the 100’s in 7-9 1° weak. Hoping to have them on my doorstep later this week.

I agree even my 150 long irons at 1 weak look way better.

Did they say anything about why they went T100 one weak in 7-9 rather than continuing with T150 two weak?
