4 utility

T250 5-8i

T150 9i
T100 PW

debating the 1-2* bending with that set would give me a nightmare lol

Just hate the constant strengthening of lofts. The t100 PW being 45 sucks. Since when is having another wedge in a set after a PW in a good players bag just supposed to be accepted?

and then they give a less lofted set that’s forgiving with the T250* and they don’t even make a 4 iron for it. Just awful. It’s like they think mid handicaps who want forgiveness but not distance don’t exist.

Are you saying you hate loft jacking; Titleist comes out with a set with traditional lofts (albeit the 250* isn't specifically intended to satisfy the strong lofted iron haters), but you aren't going to put these in play because there isn't a matching 4-iron??

The 250* is for low swing speed players. I mean I’ve been told that 5x already.

Yes. Don’t want to play a gap wedge in a normal set. Don’t need a 7 iron that goes 190 yards. Just a forgiving set where the pitching wedge is 46-47 degrees.

wouldn't a T250 bent 3* weak work? or does bending that much mess something up?

Slower swing players is who this set is intended for, but it doesn't mean it wouldn't work for you and what you are complaining about. If you're worried about the lighter heads, there is something called lead tape. It just sounds like you are complaining just to complain. This set literally solves your disdain for strong lofted irons.

This is pretty cool for a demo iron, now if they invested this much into building a surefit for irons they are expecting a lot of loft bending (probably why the soles were redesigned and the "lpga" story), but then this brings me back to my complaining about the loft stamp on the pitching wedge.  If they expect a lot of people to bend lofts why stamp something that is not accurate of what a player is playing.

Not supposed to bend that much, especially not a non forged set.

weird, my fitter at TPI was fine going 2* weak on T250 4i.

at 2* weak for the whole T250 set your PW would at least be 45*.  could prob get by with that and then 50/54/58 wedges?

What should I play for a 4 iron? Seriously. I don’t understand why everyone won’t ackowledge that Titleist is just ignoring that there is a blind spot for this set of irons

I'll clarify...bending clubs 2* strong or weak is far less risky than bending a club 2* flat or upright. TBH, 2* for either of these isn't that risky at all. It's when you try and bend something crazy like 4* that you really run the risk of cracking the hosel. Your fitter was fine in suggesting this modification.

The didn’t make them cause the demographic playing the 250* won’t have enough launch ball speed and spin to carry the ball a meaningful distance further than the 5 iron 250*.  This isn’t hard to comprehend.

play a u505, play a hybrid, play a 7-9 wood….something that will go 10-15 yards farther than a 250* 5 iron.

hope this helps

If I was as worried about this as you, I would play the 5-PW in the T250* and then put the T250 5-iron in as my 4-iron. I would send the said T250 iron into Golf | Flanigan Bilt Putters | United States and have them grind the 5-iron stamp off, refinish, and stamp a 4 on it and call it a day.

Why dont they just make a normal lofyed set that is more forgiving than the t100? Seriously I can’t believe the mental gymnastics you people are doing.

So you think that is more of a normal process than Titleist just making a 4 iron in the t250*? I mean come on man. How can you not see how what you just asked me to do is insane compared to them just making a 4 iron for a set.

From reading the comments on this forum, you are literally the only one dying on this hill, everyone else is offering solutions or not worried about it at all. Titleist isn't making something for 5% of golfers. They tried that with the MOTO program and obviously it was more work than it was worth, or they would still offer made to order products.

It’s more than 5% is the point. Much more. Everyone here could’ve just said yeah they should’ve put a 4 iron on the t250* set and it would’ve been over .

Physics.

T100 is a solid head.  So based on the density of the materials used (tungsten and steel) the iron head can only be so big since they have a certain weight they need to hit each iron head (let’s say 240-290grams from 4 iron to pw). That a limiting factor on size

enter hollow body irons like t250. They let them become larger and move the mass around.  They can make them larger at the same weight since they are hollow and not solid and statically alter cg and face thickness to support “foregivenss”

So you can’t really make a significantly larger t100, without going hollow.  They made the hollow t250* with the lofts you want.

And they should’ve just made a 4 iron for the t250*…..just say you agree because I know you do and we can move on

You should call Titliest and let them know hmccarthy has done the research and the market demands a t250* 4 iron.  We will wait to hear back from you on what they say 😆

You two are cute thinking the way you hit the ball is the way everyone else in the world does

Or we know that the current options in golf are the most user customizable they’ve ever been, if you can’t find something that works, that’s you problem, not an equipment problem

You are just happy your 7 iron now goes 10 yards further than it did 10 years ago even though you’re 10 years older. You just got better at golf dude. Surely that’s it.
