DTC FTW OMG LOL

Todays arrival. I feel like I’m proper adulting on this one. Reusing shaft pulls just sitting in my office AND paying only $70CAD per head? 1 piece forged CB heads like an adult. I’m proud of me. 
Seriously though. These are CLEAN Looking. First time going into the component build world. Won’t be the last. OEM costs are just stupid in golf and I just can’t bring myself to pay that much….. but since I love gear so much, it’s time to look at alternatives. Maltby to wet my appetite for DTC.

They do look good.

 

If you don't mind after the build posting pic of a long/mid/short iron 6-8-G.  Curious how these look at address/playing position!

Welcome to the best kept secret in golf! Maltby irons are as good as anything out there.

 

All my buddies give me weird looks when they ask what brand my irons are.. then I smoke them by 15 strokes with buttery smooth pin high fades. 😎

I endorse this thread topic....don't think I'll be going back to OEM/Big Brands. Got my 1st Maltby couple weeks ago, and it's fantastic.

I've had those heads in my cart on Golfworks many times haha, but have never purchased them knowing there likely a bit too demanding for my level of striking. But man I would love to build up a set.

Beautiful heads. Double check dry fit lengths. Shaft pulls + Maltby heads sometimes = shorter clubs.

Shorter clubs- Actually that was the goal. I was happy to see the dry fit lengths with the pulled set came in at 1/2 short (36.5” 7i). I’m 5’7 and these fit me like a glove. Very much looking forward to some SIM bay testing this weekend. They look amazing.

Congrats-- you have started at the top!   All other DTC are lesser IMO.  I have built and played Maltby for 25 years.  They are only getting better

You put these together yet? They'll be my next Maltby purchase. Currently play the TS3's, and previously the TS4's. These appear to be the Goldilocks of the 2 in both forgiveness and looks.

Yup. All built. KBS Tour Lites, CrossLine 360’s, sized off a 37” 6i. That’s the good news. Bad News is I live in Calgary. We ain’t quite playing outdoors yet.

I was in the local golf big box shop today killing time and I found nothing in the CB iron category that came close to looking as clean as these do. I am really looking forward to putting these in play.
