I know. I am just wondering what is different.. what did he ask for? A little explanation as to what is customer would be interesting to hear.

Leading edge so they wouldn't dig as much is what I was told.

The new (to Japan) 241CB has this exact same leading edge grind along with slight trailing edge relief and an almost identical blade shape albeit a slightly bigger blade.  Phenomenal irons.  Crazy that Bridgestone is pushing the 221CB through Club Champion as a "new" model.  It is a shame Bridgestone keeps fumbling and stumbling through their iron releases as they are as good as anything out there.

They always have been as good if not better than anything available, they just never gained traction in the US market for whatever reason.

Yes, they tried the US market a few times but realized they would be fighting for crumbs. The Big 4 (Callaway, Titleist, Ping and TM) get the majority of the market. Mizuno and Srixon have been fighting for years to gain additional market share. When you say Bridgestone to most golfers, they think golf balls. Unless they come up with some game changing equipment, the US market will be minimal.

Offset specs on their website for these have to be wrong. Shows the offset on the 7 iron as 4.5 mm.

In my 25ish years of playing I’ve found my scores don’t change much whether I have blades or GI in the bag. So I play what I like to feel/look at. Would bag these in a heartbeat.

From what I've heard they're still Endo forged. My only comparison to Miura would be against the TC201 and I think they're similar. Both a "soft" and have a great feel. Mine (221CB) should be arriving this week after being back-ordered since spring. While I questioned the club champion move, people have had the opportunity to hit them and it appears that resulting in higher sales volume.
