Any on course reviews yet?  Very interested in distance control….could never get the distance control down on the Lab putters I bought…

I played yesterday at a course I hadn’t played before. The greens were very smooth but slower than my practice mat. I didn’t make any long putts, but left several perfectly on line 3-6” short. Other than not hitting some putts hard enough, the speed control was very good as I didn’t have any 2nd putt longer than 2 feet, which resulted in no 3 putts. All in all a good first outing on real grass.

What did you play before and how does the feel compare?

I used an evnroll er2 for the last several years.  I wouldn’t say I absolutely love the feel of the evnroll, but it always performed really well for me and it felt good enough. The Paradox feels quite a bit different in comparison - softer and more muted.

How's the balance/stability feel on it?  I saw Sam (CEO of LAB) said it felt really weird in the stroke and didn't balance in the revealer.

I’ve never had a LAB or other zero torque. I’ve rolled a few LAB and antidotes in the store. I don’t have a revealer, but the paradox does feel stable to me. I don’t think it feels “weird” in the stroke, but that’s just me. I can’t really say how it compares to the LAB or antidote as far as that goes without hitting them side by side. Only time will tell if it can make me go completely away from the evnroll.

Gotcha! Does it feel easy to get the ball to roll on the intended line?

I don’t think the putter feels funny or weird one bit.  After playing with LABs the past 5 years swinging a Spider and a Newport 2 feels different.  Swinging the Paradox feels similar to a LAB to me.  No shade at Sam, just my 2 cents.

I didn’t keep stats but I’ve played the Paradox for 2 rounds.  It felt natural right away.  My putting was as-good as when I use my LABs.  I believe that this is a really, really good putter and I enjoy using it.  Didn’t think anything would join my LABs but this did.

Great, thanks! Does it have any forward shaft lean. Golfwrx clubjunkie review said it had some forward press (1-2 deg), but when I emailed BGT they said it didn't have any...

yeah i agree there is no forward shaft lean. You may be inclined to want to lean it foward a little to try to "negate" the onset - if that makes sense - but it isn't built in to the club

I’m canceling my order today. I ordered back in late April during pre-order at 73* lie and I can only assume they are prioritizing other orders.

I’ve been told “next week” since my first follow-up. If I can try one in person and like it, maybe I’ll re-order when they are less swamped.

I tested both heads for about 15 days now. This thing is the real deal. The roll is beautiful. Distance control is superb.

The blade looks like a brick, not much going on, but i actually preferred it over the mallet. Feel is subjective, but it does feel better imo.

I thought the odd shape was going to be distractive, but it's not weird at address.

So far, so good...

Since you've had both, did the blade have less onset than the mallet? From the pictures on the website, it looks like it might, but I wasn't sure, and that's a big thing for me, decision-wise.

Ping G430 LST (9*)

Ping G430 Max (15*,18*,21*)

Avoda SL (5-PW)
TM MG4 48*,54*,60*

Lajosi LP808 or BGT Paradox Mallet

Bridgestone Tour B XS

Hey man, it's not shade to like non LAB putters.  Sounding like a cultist shy to confess they went outside 😂

Does the mallet feel more stable or more forgiving? Would love to give the blade a go over the mallet if it’s not giving up too much.

I rolled both on practice mat yesterday. Was very impressed, mallet felt a bit more stable but also heavier. I preferred the blade a bit more but both are great

Onset is less on the blade. I don't care either way, but if you do, you will notice it right away

I had LAB online fitting with 73* Lie... Can it represent for the Paradox putter ? Should I order standard 70* or 73* as LAB fitting recommend. Thanks.

Unless BGT has changed this, they only offer a 70* lie.  I was fitted by LAB for 35”, 69* lie and felt comfortable enough being within a degree.

Honestly, I might not do the Paradox if I was more than 1* off.  Weird how much my thinking has changed on this measurement, but I think any benefit from BGT’s design might negated if your specs were off even by a few degrees.

Yes, in BGT web, if we select tour shaft, they allow us to adjust lie+-3*, that mean I can select lie 73* as LAB fitting. How do you think? Should I buy standard 70* or 73* ? Thank you.

There is no question that you should play the lie angle you were fit for, zero torque or not.  Matt Blois just did a video on this from a fitter perspective.

Oh wow, great for you then!!  Yeah if you were fitted for a 73* and they offer it?  No brainer.

Keep us updated how you love your Paradox.  It’s my favorite non-LAB standard putter, easily.

I wrote a review of it over on my blog too but I think it's against the rules here to link to it.  You'll find it if you google for it though.  I reviewed the blade with the stability shaft and the mallet with the graphite shaft.

I thought the stability shaft made a big difference and if you're going to go for this putter, you might as well get the full benefit of the head design and add the shaft too.

Driver: Titleist GT3, 10°, Ventus red 5s

3W: Taylormade Qi35 3HL, Ventus red 7s

3H: Callaway Ai Smoke, GD Tour AD-DI 85s

4&5H: Callaway Apex Pro, GD Tour AD-DI 85s

Irons: 6-PW Taylormade P770 (2025), Accra TZi95s

Wedges: Vokey SM9 50/54/60, KBS Tour Lite S

Putter: Toulon Atlanta Garage model

Ball: Mizuno Pro X

I'm a huge fan of their shafts and have them in multiple putters. I definitely wouldn't buy one of these without getting one of their shafts. It makes a difference!
