Masters Tournament 2025 (*** NO LIV DISCUSSIONS ***)

"Live From" and eventually the ANWA will be getting underway very soon.  Crowds won't be regular tournament "density" and anyone that wants to get a good feel for any differences that may be visible from the armchair will have the best opportunities to see them this morning.  Should be a great watch!

I just mean sheer volume .  I have a hard time imagining that those tall pines didn’t suffer same or worse as my town. They’ll bend somewhat. But the leverage on the roots are much more that that of oaks. And the root system isn’t as deep. My imagination says that we’re going to see some new escape routes from the trees. Or some holes with 1-5 trees left standing on one side.  Something noticeable like that.   It’s sheer and utter destruction all around me. It’s 6 months later and we have giant trucks with giant topless box trailers and cranes with grapple claws running 12 hours a day picking up debris. They’re placing it on govt owned sites and using huge mulchers. It’s been said that there’s enough free mulch to last 20 years for all of the southeast. Landscape supply companies have gone out of business.  Because they literally will load your truck with all the mulch you want for free. 
 

the media has downplayed all of this the entire time. Worst disaster outside of a coastal town direct hurricane in  150 years and we’re all just cleaning it up ourselves. There is no govt response outside of the debris trucks I mentioned.  And you have to get it to the roadside for that pickup. They won’t  come on your property  .
 

  I’ve been running a chainsaw every Saturday evening and Sunday evening for 6 months. We aren’t even close to cleaned up. I barely have the 5 big trees in the yard limbed .  And brush piles made .  And I have equipment to grab and pile it up . So it’s not just by hand. It’s crazy. 

Wow, my sympathies to Blade.  That's just awful.

Yep. It ain’t fun. But I have neighbors 3 min away that narrowly missed dying. A massive oak centered their ranch home. And split it completely down the middle. Down the hallway.  Whole length of the house.  They had to take the house completely down. And have just began to dig a new foundation. They were inside when it happened.  So we actually feel blessed. Believe it or not. All we lost was a 5 foot chain link fence. And the trees.

ANWA was enjoyable as always. Really enjoy seeing the course from different spots and ams playing it really highlights how tough holes can play when out of position.

Totally forgot that was on. The tv coverage to me is disjointed.  I hate that they don’t let them play the real course all days.  Cheapens it quite a bit

Whoo!  Drive, Chip & Putt underway! I have to believe anyone who ever played golf with their kids watches this with moist eyes from time to time.  Paige dressed very smart today - even Jacobsen looks good, Tirico with the fancy suit and trainers, lol, come on Mike!

Always do - practice round on AN on Friday (even those who don't make the cut get to play it) and final at AN on Saturday.  Has worked great!

At one point I left the screw undone and would grab the driver every time I walked by it for a few days and tap it again on the butt thinking if I just kept at it it would separate at some point but no luck.

Yep. They do. Somewhere close by.  It’s just weird to me. Like signing the office card for the boss without putting money in the hat.  Getting credit.  But not really giving all that the credit taking requires.

Mickelson might do a Couples for a round or two, but no dark horse to win these days.  

 

So many first time win players on Tour showing good form, wouldn't surprise me to see them up there and always a foreign player or three to hang in the top 10 and maybe win. 

 

I think Rory figures it out this year but who knows.

I’d love to see Rory get it figured out, but something about him finding so many ways not to is also very entertaining.

 

Would be cool for Scottie to win again because that will start the talk of him amongst Masters all time greats (and Rory may eventually cry on course if Scottie proves to dominate Augusta every year).

I fear for Rory again. He folded at last year's US Open and the pressure will be x1000 greater if he's leading on Sunday afternoon.

I want Rory to win too but his results are so mixed in this event. You can blame it on a lot of things, but I think the main culprit is his iron play. He has to be sharper with those wedges and mid irons. He certainly looks good enough heading into this year's event so we will see.
