Did they slow them down for the Drive, Chip, and Putt? Would be hard to do since they just played the Augusta Women’s Amateur the day before and I would imagine those are at tournament speeds.

Good point. The greens are def a good foot to 2ft slower for the womens. To maintain 14-15 you have to do that heavy maintenance everyday. If they take one day to let them heal I bet they get "slow" relative term for guys that have come to expect that crazy Augusta speed. Probably still rolling 13.

 

Still interesting as I wouldn't expect that the day before rain...

Baddelly got 1 in 2000 and Sargeant in recent years, both special invitations as amateurs when not already qualified. Just seems strange given his run to get his PGA Tour card. He was as big as it gets in terms of showcasing the amateur game!

Sargent won the NCAAs which has one of the strongest am fields along with the US Am. Clanton's done well for sure but doesn't have such a signature win on his resume.

Yeah it's just a shame as realistically he is the only Am who has a real shot at contending, especially given his recent form... imagine if he was in contention on the back 9 this Sunday? Which could have easily happened if he had a start this week. Oh well

ANGC from 30s to 50s to present.

 

The original course looks amazing...better in many ways with more contours. Look how small the trees are and the clubhouse stands alone!

 

Many of the 50s-era holes resemble state park/public courses. That pond on #6? Ugh!

Yes.  Full access...She works exclusively with Masters Champions.
