New Odyssey SevenX: Xander edition

I was at my local Dicks/GG today and noticed a red #7 on the shelf thinking it was the previous Toulon release…but it’s a new Odyssey Xander edition, presumably limited release.  Anyone know anything more about this release?  $430 rack rate

Is there a tc number on the hosel?    If it’s a proto or tour issue it will have that.

 

Have these been counterfeit yet?  I’m assuming at 1000 resale value it’s only a matter of time

It’s releasing to big box stores (in very limited quantity) but not for another week or two. Whoever put that out on the floor was supposed to keep it in the back until the release date

I didn’t see weights marked on this new release but it was too light for me. I also have a Japan release giraffe beam #7 which was also too light with 10g weights. I weighed them and both came in at ~8g so I bought 24’s and it’s perfect now.

I’ve seen some people online say the new version was not produced by Sean Toulon which is why it’s listed at a lower price point.  Who knows if that accurate or not?

Honestly, I really have no complaints. I love the Toulon Xander. Putted really well with it last year.

It appears to have the same Toulon diamond milling, so I'm not sure what else Toulon would be producing on this putter

Probably not. All we lefties get in terms of putters is the shaft. 😂

 

I have a Metal X version of this putter that was offered in left many years ago. I think it was designated as a 7-CH. 
 

I removed the insert and replaced it with a Spry-evo insert but I’ve never really been happy with the feel. I’d love to put a DFX insert in it instead.

Interesting.. I doubt there is much difference other than taking the Toulon upcharge name off of it..

I think it’s a similar scenario to the Rahm and hovi limited putters that released and then a year later they released a much less limited, sort of close replica.

Precision-Milled Stainless Steel Head with a Non-Insert Face

The RED SEVEN X Putter features a #7 fang-shaped design with a crank neck hosel. Its head is precision-milled from stainless steel, ensuring exceptional durability and consistency. The face does not include an insert; instead, it features a diamond-milled pattern, designed to enhance roll and control. The sole incorporates 10g tungsten alloy weights placed at the toe and heel, creating a shallow center of gravity for improved stability.

Distinctive Color Scheme for Enhanced Alignment

The putter head is predominantly finished in Xander Schauffele’s preferred red, while the face features a two-tone color scheme—retaining red on the top portion and Black PVD on most of the surface. Agreed!  I think Cally knows there is still more juice they can get out of this one.

The original Xander is softer and has more offset.  This new one the CH sits back farther and the feel is a little firmer.  Not good or bad but they are slightly different.  We were putting them back to back in the shop.

They probably had to make it a little different since Toulon is no longer affiliated with Cally/Odyssey now.
