I believe that’s about right. I think the word “milled” gets thrown around a bit too much.

Put it on the scale and it's 509 grams.  That's lighter than a 2008 Newport with a PP58 PING grip.  Is Xander gaming a 509g putter?

 

Doing that math - according to the specs:

 

- 360g head

- 51g pistol 2.0 grip

- 98g shaft

 

Does this seem correct?  I doubt the Toulon versions are this light but I haven't handled one.

It definitely seems like this launch had some issues that weren't checked upon leaving the build area. I might go to my shop again to see if I can get one on a loft/lie machine. All three I was checking appeared to be off, but one was better than the rest.

I have both really no difference.  Sole plate is about it.  Original Xander may have slightly more offset.  

 

Original Xander on the left.  One you can get for $429 (but have to adjust hosel lol) and other probably double that price.

Thanks.  Do they weight the same?  Mine is 509g at 35".

I put stability shaft in them so I actually weighed the heads. I think I remember the original Xander being 360g (I did that a while ago) and new release is only 350g.  I can't remember the Xander for sure, but I do know new one is 350g because I just weighed it the other day.  Maybe that's the different sole plate? They feel about the same because I have a little heavier grip on the original.

Interesting if it weighs 10g less than what's advertised.  I think it's balanced nicely as it is, but false advertising is bad.

I just checked weights.  Original Xander has 15g weights and new one has 10g weights.  So that explains the 350g vs 360g.  I kind of like having both options.  Sole plate must be the same.

Stopped in GG today and they had 2 of these. First one looked fine and sat flush but not my usual length. Second one was my length but it had to be so bent. It sat so internally rotated and wouldn't sit flat to the ground like the other one. Love the look of these. Quite disappointing I would have bought it.

I would understandably be put off after reading this thread, but for anyone on fence or if you haven't rolled one, I think it's well worth the effort of finding a good example.

 

Every time I pick it up I'm continually surprised how balanced and stable it feels.  Playing it at 35", 68° the thing just feels like it's on rails.  I also love the rounded cavity between the fangs, as opposed to the square back on the AI one #7.

 

I do plan to reduce loft down to ~2.5 as I've noticed some jump and skid.  That and I've got a Diamana P105 sitting around that I may throw in there, but this baby is in the bag.

I just got an email from Callaway saying how some putters are out of spec and to send them back for repair if needed.

Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that some of the Red Milled Seven X putters we sold may have lofts that are out of specification.

If you believe the putter you purchased is out of specification, please contact our consumer relations/warranty team at 1-800-588-9836, and we will promptly issue you a Return Authorization (RA). If you are uncertain whether the putters you received are within spec, you are welcome to return them to us for inspection. Once returned, we will thoroughly inspect the putter, fix or replace it as necessary, and return it to you.

It lacks density and is pretty much hollow, if that matters. There should be an asterisk next to the word “milled” IMO. 😐

I think it is a cast and then the face is milled.

Might want to listen up to @iteachgolf on this one.  Feel is one thing, but i suspect y'all are out of your depth on machining.
