New Odyssey SevenX: Xander edition

I bought one of these directly from Callaway. It feels a little lighter than what I have been playing. Does anyone know if the weight kits on the Odyssey site will work with this putter if I wanted to order heavier weights?

Rolled this in store today and was surprised at the quality at first glance - feels low quality in hand

I bought a pair of 20g Odyssey Toulon weights from eBay. One fit perfectly. The other needed just a bit of electrical tape to keep from rattling. No regrets.

It is cast steel with a milled face, not fully milled like some. I have a Diamana shaft and Scotty Long Design grip on mine and it feels just as good on pure putts as any carbon steel I’ve rolled. The diamond milling face is special IMO.

That is incorrect.  It's been discussed in this very thread in detail by folks who machine putters.

Please tell that to the folks at LABWORX. They would not refinish mine because the top is cast, not milled. LABWORX does stuff for big OEMs. A lot of stuff.

Back on topic - I'm not sure if the weights are interchangeable.  Nobody seems to know that, even Cally when I contacted them.

Rolled putters for an hour in store and the stroke and alignment were best with this. 
 

1) dislike that it’s red but whether it’s the store lights or what, it helps my alignment confidence and that affects my stroke too. 
 

would prefer the looks of AI one milled but this was just better. 
 

2) forgot how odyssey putters are slightly shorter vs others at the same stated length. 
 

3) agree on how quality feels. It’s fine, but not high end - it feeling light may be part of that.

I was confused after seeing it at the PGA tour store too. I’ve been a fan of the Toulon diamond milled face but I wish they made different sizes. From what I’ve seen they have all been 35in

They have 34 and 35” at my PGASS.

Just ordered one out of curiosity, from friggin Amazon of all places as mark ups at other spots were a little ridiculous.

 

I build/mill putters, its def milled. Not sure what the debate was there. 

 

If mine arrives bent, I'll bend it to my specs.

 

I have a set of various weights to try. 15/20/25.

Just sold mine - didn't get on with it well enough to unseat my other putters. I found the red a bit much too.

Say what you will about this putter but it does perform.  Five birdies yesterday and a nice round.

might have something to do with who's holding it. Also fairly sure Xander's putter isn't bent at the neck😂

I was able to finally source a good copy.  Admittedly I am a good putter.  That being said this "ginger" putter - as my playing partner called it - is more than capable.
