Anser style vs Mallet something feels off

I have been using an Odyssey 7s with a Super Stroke 2.0 XL for a while, after playing an Anser for years, and really liking it. Recently I ran onto a really good deal on a Cameron Squareback 1.5. I put a standard pistol style grip on it. Obviously these 2 putters are completely different but something feels off about the Squareback. I try to replicate my setup as close as possible and it feels as if the Squareback has too flat of lie angle. The heel of the putter has to be off the ground in order for the putter to feel like setting up with the Odyssey.

They are both the same length, very similar necks on them as well with similar toe hang.

Is there something I'm not accounting for switching between the 2 styles, is the Cameron too flat or is it as simple as "I'm a mallet guy now"?

Have you had the actual lie angles checked?

Yeah, check the loft and lie. Odyssey putters especially are often way off spec. Cameron’s are usually better, but if you bought it used it’s highly likely the prior owner had it bent to his/her specs.

I haven't. I wanted to see what the consensus was first. I always assume that it's me that's doing something incorrect and not equipment. I'll start there.

It looked like a gamer, it had the most worn out super stroke I have ever seen. If someone used it enough to get the grip in that condition... Probably custom spec.

It's going to be lie angle check, you even said it felt too flat so check that and will probably have your answer right away.

Took both putters to have the lie angles checked today. Odyssey was 71° and Cameron was 70°. Had them adjust the Cameron to 71°, I was shocked at how big a difference 1° made. Sets up perfect now. Thanks for advice!

Most people don’t realize this and fight putters or golf clubs where there is a very simple solution sometimes in having them bent. It’s the first thing I do with any club is getting the lie angle correct. Not close but correct. Too many people try to adjust to the club. You are who you are the club needs adjusted to you

When I hear people say "Oh just practice a bunch you'll get use to it" makes me want to pull my hair out.
