Less expensive polos?

The Ben Hogan golf stuff at Walmart (~$20 for a polo) is far inferior to an Under Armour playoff polo (~$50 on sale). But I agree the higher end stuff (pushing $150+ for a polo) isn't worth the premium.  

 

The UA polo I bought at a golf shop was by far the most poorly made, cheapest material polo shirt I have ever had. I've never had one of the BH polos but the shorts I had were very good quality.

They are only at Walmart? I just bought a few Hogan shirts at Vans Golf(Worldwide Golf same as Global Golf/Roger Dunn/Edwin Watts and more) for summer use.  Usually wear Johnnie O or FJ but four shirts for $100 seemed too good to pass up.

Check ebay.  Their are a ton of holderness polos for around $50.  Not sure exactly hos much you want to spend.  Peter millar should also be having a sale soon.

Another for for maelreg on Amazon.   The are cheap and more durable than the Nike polos I have.

Esabel.C is another on Amazon that is super cheap and pretty good.  Their only problem is there are only a few that I'd actually wear.  The "White Rhombus" polo honestly has the feel of the Draddy Cool line.

I'll have to check this out. I went to grab a few polos for a trip and was sticker shocked by everything. Finding things for under 90 dollars seemed impossible.

Bought a few of these as well. Very comfortable and doesn't wrinkle up in the dryer. Great fit as well.

If you are in the SE US, check out to see if there is a Hamricks in your area. I fill up there, lots of Callaway, PGA Tour, Greg Norman, Chaps stuff for less than $15. They might be 3 year old designs, but for the cost, it's hard to beat. https://www.hamricks.com/find-a-store/ 

 

I personally believe Golf Apparel is the BIGGEST rip off in the industry. Only 1 thing notices what 'Brand' you're wearing....your bank account. 

 

Having purchased thousands and thousands of dollars in golf apparel over the years, from cheap to uber expensive, I’d have to generally disagree with this statement.  While there is no need whatsoever to spend money on the expensive brands, there IS a difference in the fit/quality/comfort/breathability of say a Peter Millar polo and something that you get at Sam’s or Costco.  Same with rain gear, pullovers, etc.  Again, no need to spend the big $ to get decent gear, but the expensive stuff is expensive due to more than just the brand on the collar.

This 100%. Walked over the other day cause I was sweating like a stuffed pig through the heather grey polo I wore to work. Grabbed a solid black Birdie Bound polo for $19 and it’s actually really nice. As mentioned they had the Hogan stuff for $16.

Maelreg on Amazon is the way. These in particular are really solid. Don’t be afraid to try a size down from what you normally wear in these too.

Verdict is pretty good so far on a couple of Quince polos and shorts I bought to try out. No logo or branding which I like, and quality seems fine for low priced gear.

I have a few fabletics polos and I think they are a good deal if you get the membership. Just bulk order a bunch of golf stuff and then cancel the membership after you get everything. I think polos were all under $30 and the pants are super nice as well for around the same price.

I ordered some Maelreg polos and no collar "polos" with mixed results. Collared Standard polos are good to go, nice material and seem well made. Collar-less mock polos the moisture wicking fabric is really thin. Good for working out in or range/practice area work (if your club isnt super uptight about attire on the practice area) but I wouldnt play a round in it (does not look nice like the Nike or Adidas mock collar polos I have).

Occasionally, Costco has some good deals on name brand golf shirts. I bought some Adidas and Callaway shirts there in the last year or two. I also confess to buying a few Greg Norman shirts and pants there as well.

I actually bought some from costco, they are around $20 or below and they are nice and comfy. Forgot what the brands are, but you should check them out asap before summer ends. I also bought my pants from amazon, they are really really good. $20

+1 to the posts on Costco and TJ Maxx/Marshall’s

costco routinely has Greg Norman and other brands at reasonable prices 

marshall’s is less consistent, but have been able to score Footjoy shirts, pants, shorts, and some outerwear at excellent prices.
