What to pack?

Morning guys,

This is my foursome’s first trip to Bandon Dunes. Will be going there from June 7-12.

If we were playing in my home state of Oklahoma, I would only need two things: shorts and polos.

However, this is Bandon and I bet the weather can change from 50° to 80° and back down to 50* so I need your advice...

What should we pack for six rounds in mid June? What kind of weather should we expect or not expect? Any other bits of information would be gladly appreciated.

Layers are the key. Expect high temps in the low to mid 60s and lows around 45 - 50. The wind can make it feel colder on the golf course, so layer up. Rain is uncommon in June, but by no means unheard of, so I'd bring rain gear just in case. Bring a sweater for those cool evenings when you're between your room and dinner.

As stated above - layers and rain gear. Not to cop out, but just pack for everything, even if the forecast shows nothing but sun the day before you leave. Rain pants over shorts in the morning are nice for the days when it should warm up but is still a bit chilly early. Other things:

All of the socks - try and change between rounds
If you've got one - a nice golf vest is a good layer to shed as well between morning and afternoon as well.
Bring a beanie in addition to any golf hats - can get chilly in the evenings / mornings
Bring at least two pairs of shoes. If you can change between an AM and PM round, do so. And be sure they're pretty well broken in already - don't try and break in a new pair walking 7 miles round 1.
Depending on how you're getting to the resort, having a rental car is nice. It's a rolling locker room. If you can't, pack at least socks in your bag for between rounds.

Depending on your travel plans, if you happen to be flying through Eugene and renting a car, there's a golf mega store called "Fiddler's Green" 5 minutes from Eugene airport. Anything basic you're planning on loading up on - balls, gloves, etc. you can pop in there and snag tax free and not worry about having to fly with it there from a weight perspective. They have quite a good selection or rain gear / other apparel as well, but that can be more hit or miss.

Some repeat but my packing necessities to ensure you finish in reasonably good shape.

Good socks, a fresh pair for each round. Good underwear and whatever method you prefer to prevent chafing, can't stress this one enough. Layers, rain gear, ibuprofen, sunscreen, lip balm, mole skin patches for blister prevention. Comfortable shoes, don't be afraid to wear athletic sneakers, especially on replay rounds.

Headed there in Monday! Packing tonight. You will love it, enjoy your trip.
