S is in my bag for some testing, much better durability than previous model. Nice ball so far. Nothing to report on yet, too early.

For me and my club delivery I find the Pro X slots in between the Callaway Chorme Tour X, and the Taylormade TP5.  Less spin and more height than the Tour X, more spin and height than the TP5.  Feel is subjective....I do like the feel of the Tour X, and the Pro X feels pretty similar to it as far as I can tell.

Getting more and more impressed with the Pro X every time I test it. As long off the tee as anything I’ve tried, PERFECT off the irons for me with more peak height and very similar spin as Tour BX, CT X, and V1X. Does well in the wind, good feel, and good durability. I think this is the sleeper ball out there this year.

I been playing this ball for little over a week. It checks every box and hits every window for me. Haven’t been this impressed or excited in a ball for a long time! I’m playing the S as I am a high ball  hitter. Low spin off driver. The other day I hit a toe shot that normally would be a hard snap hook left, but was just a draw that ended just off the fairway. Wind ball ✔️, low dr spin✔️, wedge spin✔️, feel✔️, low dr flight ✔️! My new ball this year. Won’t play another ball period. It’s that good!

If anyone’s interested, 3doz personalized cost $120 all-in on Golfballs.com. Shipped so fast I’m shocked. Pumped to give these a shot.

Tested the Pro X some more yesterday. Man, what a great ball. Performs every bit as good as my normal Tour BX, Chrome Tour X, and TP5x. If any of you are looking for a new ball and like higher peak height, more iron spin, and long off the tee, that doesn’t feel clicky, DEFINITELY give it a try.

I have heard enough good things about this ball that when my stash of TP5x are done, I will give this a try.

I got in on the 4for3 deal and I have a little over a dozen left

Good news seems to be that the price is going down on these

I would like to try the X but I’m a high ball hitter the way it is. Been gaming the S version a few weeks now. I’m definitely sold and it’s my ball this year. Just got buy 2 get 1 free at the Galaxy so I’m good for awhile. Love this ball!

I've now played the Pro X for a couple months. It's a good ball, but not perfect.

Pro

- very competitive price

- great look and premium feel

- feels nice and firm, but not clicky off irons and woods

- piercing flight, pretty stable in the wind

- loads of spin off iron and wedge approaches

- like it very much off the White Hot insert putter, distance control is top notch

Con

- scratches up more easily than Pro V1, Vice Pro, Chrome Tour etc.

- noticeably less spin off chip shots than V1 and Vice Pro

At the price, it's hard to not choose this ball. I'm a Mizuno fanboy so it's even tougher to say no. The one thing that bothers me is durability. Even with no bunker shots these balls scratch up pretty quickly, and after 18, they show noticeable wear. It's more of a visual thing, but still.

Played the S again recently, and had a few observations.

- The ball manages to be both soft and hard at the same time.  The cover is incredibly soft and tacky, yet putts and full irons do tend to feel/sound a little "crack-y".  I'm assuming this due to this year's "thinner cover and thicker mantle"

- This ball also spins very well, especially on full swing approaches.  Not only does it hop and stop, but this spin allows for a generously steep descent angle

- The covers wear incredibly fast.  Due to the soft feel, and its ability to mark up and stain, I am guessing this is a thermoset cover versus a TPU one.  I've played the same Srixon Z-Star for 36 holes (TPU), yet had the S ready to be retired after four holes.  And I'm not a huge "hit down, high spin" player.

For the money, I do really still like the ball, and I said in another thread that it reminds me of the original FG Tour X.  But I believe I will save these for play when conditions are firm/dry, as I'll likely go through at least a sleeve on 18 holes.

As a further follow up, I played the S ball in league tonight.

Ball lasted 9 holes with minimal damage, and I’d likely play it a few extra holes before replacing it.

I thought back to the many balls I’ve played over the years, and it occurred to me that this ball reminded me of the well-loved TP Red.  Soft yet firm, good spin on approaches, yet incredibly straight on drives.

If you loved the TP Red, this is worth a go.

I played the X yesterday and will continue to game them for sometime.  I had to take one out of play after it got scuffed from hitting the cart path on the third hole.  I played the next ballfor the rest of the round, including two bunker shots, and it held up fine.  I will continue to use that ball for my next round. No scuffs are serious signs of wear.

Earlier this year I've played the 25 ProV1x, and the prior generations of Maxfli X and Wilson Staffs.  I like all of these balls, and the Mizuno Pro X is comparable in all regards from what I can tell.  I really want to try to latest Wilson Staff X, just waiting for a sale or discount...
