Low spin drivers

So I feel.like my particular swing speed and mechanics  is just weird enough to work better owith smaller 440cc low spin drivers. 

I have been successful with callway sub zero driver starting with epic flash and then mavrik. Currently gaming ping g430 lst.

So I tried lofting my 9  deg driver up to 10deg to help dispersion, but that did not work to well. I hit balls to high anyway so adding loft just cost me distance and Increased spin. 

So yesterday I spent a little time at range. I have two variables I want o analyze. 

1. Driver loft. 

2 back weight position and actual weight in grams. 

Ping g430 lst 9deg has stock back weight of 22gr.  I also have a 28gr and a 34gr weight. 

Today I warmed up then started working driver at 10deg with heavy 34gr weight in drawer setting .

Too high to much spin. To risky 

Dropped driver back to 9 deg, slightly lower, better flight and dispersion but wasn't really feeling it..

Droped it -1 to 8 deg and moved weight to neutral setting.  Ok so that combo felt really good and I started getting the  mid to low trajectory I like.  Dispersion was better and distance was way better. 

So this is no way conclusive yet. I am planning  to spend some time at range with driver and 3 back weights 

Warm up then start a rotation of 10 ball sets. 

8 deg Stock 22gr  neutral.

8 deg 28gr neutral

8 deg 34 gr neutral

 

I will hit 10 balls each then run Though 10 ball sets at least twice. 

If not happy with performance I will the 9deg with same weight changes. 

I score each shot as follows.

Right 5 point

Middle 10 points

Left 5 points

Bad 0 points.

Bad is bad. Slice hook , topper  fat whatever. 

Right and left has to be reaso able in play to get 5 points. Middle is like aiming to middle of fairway.

Then I total up points divide by number of shots to get an average score. I think this scoring system gives me a good idea to see which configuration works best for me.

Ok so Instead of going to range i went to play nine holes. 

Set up driver basically stock.

Ping g439 lst with stock 22gram backweight set to neutral.  Set loft at 8deg. 

I hit 1 absolute piped drive dead middle fairway 275 out on par 5. Left me like 240 to hole.  Hit 2hy to 220 to right front  side with buler between me and pin. I hut easy lob onto green rolled out a but 2 putter for par. 

 

Of the 7 driver holes. I miss hit one hole the 9th. Hit a slice that hit a tree on right side anbd bounced out to rough. Other then that miss. The other s

6 drives where 

3 left rough in play.

2 right rough in play

1 dead middle. 

I forgot my watch so I don't have exact distances but I was within striking distance in 2 on both par 5's and all par 4's 

Low spin. Stock neutral weight position is where I am staying for now. I am happy where driver is at the moment. Tomorrow will be better test playing 18 with my brother and I would love to take his money for a change.
