Everything about the buyer being impatient is moot if the above is true.  

 

I had a similar encounter with a seller on this forum and as soon as the seller refused to refund me until they were reimbursed themselves I knew it was time to file with PayPal.

BST, Ebay, craigs, FB marketplace have all been infiltrated by parties only concerned with themselves and not being a good member at large. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to buy or sell online anymore as the risks are just too great. Entitlement and narcissism are at all time highs. 

 

I see online transactions gravitating toward an efficient, cheap 3rd party who holds the funds until both sides are happy. Won't be cheap, and won't be fast, but it might the best avenue going forward.

If you can post on WRX from your phone you can log onto PayPal from your phone.  You don’t need to be at home on your laptop to do it.  Serious question - how do you find time to golf when you can’t even find time to sleep?

If you're a legendary same day shipper/tracking# provider, a few keystrokes/taps should be slight work. No matter how many hours you claim to work.

I’m confused. Buyer gets a broken shaft in the mail and is supposed to be patient and wait longer for a guy to figure out that his phone’s web browser can take him to PayPal’s website?

Normally I would think the OP was a day or to early but the above statement (according to the OP) changes all that. Insurance is to protect the seller not the buyer. Once it was shown that the shaft arrived broken the seller should have agreed to refund right away. There really was no other honourable response.

Great point.

He's "shipped 100s of shafts/clubs/heads" but doesn't have the PayPal app, asks for F&F to save $6 in fees, quick responses when he wants to sell but slow-plays when there's an issue.

It's 100% NOT against the rules to ask for F&F payment in Private/Direct Messages.

 

It's 100% AGAINST the rules to ADVERTISE that form of payment.

 

 

Either way, unless you personally "know" the person you are dealing with - F&F should never be used. Even then it's questionable for internet transactions given the hacked accounts, etc.

It's not against the letter but it is against the spirit of the rule. And the marshall's have asked that anyone who request PP F&F be reported... so I would venture to say there is a reason for that.
