Ventus shaft received broken/ seller refuses to refund

@Lumberjack627 I know it felt like everyone was ganging up on you but know that if roles were flipped in a future deal, everyone would have your back.  We are a small community of die hard golfers just trying to watch out for each other.

His admission he should have handled it better was about as backhanded as it gets. He said he doesn't owe anyone in here any justification for how he handled this and gave multiple excuses throughout this entire process. I still take issue with him asking for payment via F&F and his unwillingness to just download the app to resolve this in a timely manner.

I understand and agree with parts of this especially that F&F, that's just a flat out no no. My perspective is there is just nothing else to say at this point. It's all been said and sufficiently criticized. And believe me I get why everyone feels the need to keep piling on... I just don't necessarily feel there is a need to.  Time to move on in my book is all.

Yup - at the very least the seller clearly didn't understand the "order of operations" in this case (refund first > file claim, etc).

 

That message is clearly going to upset any buyer. It doesn't sound like the seller ever took accountability for that.

 

But oh well.

No offense but I never understand when people step in and try to end a thread and tell other people not to comment anymore. I just read this for the first time 5 minutes ago so maybe I'd like to say something.

Is the court of public opinion buying this? Seems like odd messaging by PayPal. Maybe someone else has experienced this?

Firstly, as usual in these types of threads, I do feel like there has been some legitimate criticism and good advice given.

 

As to your question though...Of course the Mod's will close a thread when they feel that nothing more is to be gained and become aware of it having run it's course, but that in no way limits my or anyone else right to express an opinion that the thread is no longer beneficial to the community. You don't have to agree but I do have the right to express that opinion just the same, right? It's just that simple.

I think the initial op has the option to request a lock from the mods. See lots of "closed at op's request" at end of closed threads. Glad this is over and ended up working out for both.

I'm confused now because you are the one who was literally trying to limit people's "right to express an opinion" ... by telling everyone to move on and stop commenting.

It only said that because I went into the case that was filed at there is 2 things to click on. Either submit refund or continue claim. I submitted the refund so it’s over. Wrong choice of words for PayPal to use I think because it should be more like the seller submitted the refund to you instead of them thinking they won the case in their favor but whatever I used a lot of wrong choice of words though this whole thing.

You may have had that impression but If you go back and actually read what I have stated, I never told anyone to move on or suggested that they should stop commenting as long as the thread was open. 

 

What I did say was that IMO the thread should be locked up. In other comments I have explained that why I said this was that I don't believe there is anything more to be gained. Buyer has been refunded. Seller has admitted that they did not handle things not as well as they could have (notwithstanding whether or not anyone believes this was sincere or not). Once again as I have already said, my perspective is there is just nothing else to say at this point. It's all been said and sufficiently criticized.

Anyone still getting after it in this thread is just virtue signaling. This is done and dusted and I’m sure many block lists have been updated and rightfully so.
