3w issue

By the way, I had another range sess with the Elyte Ti 3.  Getting it dialed a bit more.  Still have the heavier weight up front and prefer it there.  I would have thought I needed to T it higher than F9 due to deeper face but not the case.  It launches higher than F9 but it just gets out there and goes.  I was swinging to the 250 marker (lasered at 238) and was all over it.  Hit the damn sign 2x on 1 hop (passive brag).  I must have really nutted one as it flew right over the marker.  I packed my ish up and left - no topping that.

 

I will say, this club is not as easy off the deck as F9 but I expected that TBH.  I have my Hot Metal Pro 4i for longer approaches out to about 215.

 

Playing Sunday so fully expect the club to go 180 and OB right.  lol

Check the bulge and roll of the face.  I had the same problem with my Titleist 915FD and found a slight dent towards the toe, where I normally hit it.  Cold ranges balls are the worst!

I had an F9 3 wood that cracked at the back seam of the head, I thought it sounded a little off but didn't think anything about it and attributed the performance variations to poor strikes. I actually didn't know it was there until I went to trade it in and the guy refused it due to the crack, I was so embarrassed as I didn't want them to think I was trying to get one over on them.

Also had an Epic Sub Zero 3 wood that did exactly the same thing you're describing , just felt dead and lost pop, I'd guess there is an internal weld that's failed and at some point, if you had kept playing it, would be revealed. Funny, I've never caved a driver but I've had multiple fairways that died horrible deaths.

Yeah, there has to be something there - I just cant find it.  Oh well.  It served me well and as a playing buddy told me - I must have used it up.  Ive played it since demo'ing and loved it.  I hope the new Callaway has the same performance as F9.

 

Ive never caved a driver either and this is my first club to ever have this type of experience.

Round 1 in the books here.  Used the club 4x off the T (home course - usually use D on 2 of those holes but wanted to use the 3 here for getting a feel).  4/4 FWY hit.  Very easy to hit and hit long.  Mid-High FLT.  Must be lowish spin as it just went and then rolled out nicely.  I know I said Id be adding a FUJI shaft to it but I might keep the KBS TD for a minute as it just produces nice shots.  Doesnt have that tight FUJI feel I love but it gets the job done.

Another elyte titanium 3w update. This thing just goes. It's long and very forgiving for me. Mid high flt and has to be lower spin as the roll out is crazy good. Heavy weight still up front and it'll stay there. Expensive but in my bag it's worth it. Was not playing well at all yesterday so I said heck with it and went off the deck even. Piercing flt and rolled to the collar on par5.

I found it very spinny compared to my ai smoke max. Same with our pro

 

AI Smoke max fairways are so good doubt I’ll be switching out of my 3W and 5W for a very long time

Once I find a solid 3 it tends to stay in the bag for a few years. Glad you found yours. We'll see if elyte can hang around. So far so good

Interesting. I got the Elyte core 5w and spin is just too much where distance wise it gets into the next club down from it. Otherwise I really like everything about the club. Flight is great. Easy to hit off the tee and the deck. I have a Stealth 2+ as well which is faster and lower spin and launch than the Elyte. It’s also a little more difficult to hit consistent off the deck due to the deeper face. 

I had Ai Smoke TD 3w at one time and it may have been the worst 3w for my swing I’ve ever hit. How are the Ai Smoke Max as far as spin goes? I may pick one up off CPO and give it a try.

I found them to be consistent with spin. 3 wood in the 3s and 5 wood high 4s. The 5W launches high so if I’m not careful with my swing it can get spinny but that’s the case with all 5 woods I have hit
