Anyone still playing Kuro Kage XT TX?

Curious if anyone is still playing Kuro Kage XT TX? Put an old one I had in play and am falling back in love. Curious if they’re still being played by others, and if not what have you gone into that you’re liking more?

was thinking of this shaft earlier today funny you mention it. I've played the 60tx and 70tx and haven't had any luck finding any on the bay to try out at the right length. I'd say the VF and Tr blue have been good replacements for me.

I do really like the TR Blue. Really don't get along with the VF. I did see that XT (non tx) is extremely similar to Ventus TR Red on an EI curve which is interesting because I love the TR Red for fairway woods.

Are you sure? I've had a couple of XT 70's and the butt definitely seemed softer than the Ventus reds. It's not too far from the original WB type profile. I'd think the KK XM would be a littler closer.

I saw a post in another thread with the comparisons

and they're extremely close. That being said, I can't be sure they used the correct shafts or anything like that either.

how have ball speeds held up with your current XT compared to Ventus counterparts?

found my jam with the new black + but always missing the explosive XT feel.

I haven't taken them both to a sim to check speeds, but distance on course hasn't suffered any. I have a black + on the way because I've heard it has the benefits of normal black but isn't quite as demanding as original and TR. Is that your experience with black +?

pretty much got the same flight with black and new black +. New black + has a softer handle but stiffer mid section. Definitely feels easier to load still than the og.

I think it's splitting hairs for me, I've played all of them over the last 5 years

OG ventus black - if there is any kick it's when you flush one. And even then, it's tiny somewhere mid/high feel for me. If you tip a kuro kage xt it would move the profile to something pretty similar... But black is like 1/2 a flex stronger imo, maybe even more.

Ventus black plus 6s- gave this a try for a bit since OG 6x was only for big swinging days and I'm getting older lol. Feel is better but it's all in the mid high handle area, super stiff below this. Reminds me of px ls iron shafts, OG is like OG PX. Hit some monsters but it was a little wild, could play it tipped and may go back to it. Both blacks though had a push miss that I never get from anything but more linear type shafts

Kuro kage xt - friendlier than ventus black and black plus. Similar to a ventus purple, but a normal red with less tipping has too much low kick to be a straight comparison feel wise.

I played kk xt -> og vb -> purple -> Aretera, black+ then back to aretera

aretera gray gave me that kk xt/purple feel (stable but smoothish) + anti left of ventus black without the push miss. I just hit a kk xt in my 3 wood against both aretera and a red, so not driver, but I think the comparisons are still valid for feel and ball speed-- all carrying around 240 with range balls off the deck, height was a hair higher with the ventus red but not much.

Been extremely interested in Arerera grey… did you Tip it? And did you play it in same flex as the VB?

Yes to VB flex, didn't tip either. Both shafts have a stiff enough tip so I didn't see the need from a feel perspective. #s wise, unless chopping an inch, which would change the feel, wasn't worth it either. I only live around 110 so X is fine either way. It's just a question of what feel you prefer- Aretera feels 100% smoother, and almost like a kk xt, it can handle slow to fast. VB for me wouldn't load during a 75% shot.
