Fujikura Speeder Shafts

Was hoping someone can enlighten me on the Speeder shafts. 

 

I'm looking for a low kick point, high launch stiff shaft.

 

Would like an evo 2 661 be a good shaft?

Speeder shafts are amazing shafts & I currently play the 661 Evolution VI.

This shaft has beat out every possible option out there ( Yes I’m a shaft hoe), I’ve tried Ventus in all forms, Diamana’s, Tensei’s, Oban & a lot more.

Ok, onto which speeder will be low kick, definitely not the EVO II, that is low launch/ high kick & an excellent choice for anyone that hits it high or wants to hit it low with low spin.

The Evo III launches higher also with low spin & is one of my favorites in the Evo line.

Depending on your swing speed & AOA, these are my high launch options in the Speeder line, Evo I, EvoIII, EvoV, EvoVII. 
All these have slightly different characteristics but ultimately are the higher launchers in the EVO line.

In my view, from easiest to hardest to load, EvoI, V, VII & III.

Evo II, IV, VI & TR are low launchers. 
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they are grouped in odds & evens, but all odd numbers are higher launching & all even numbers are lower launching.

Thank you Fubuman... I've had a real difficult time finding any type of information/reviews on the old speeders.

 

I heard that the speeders evolved into the ventus. That is from the same maker. I knew it was Fujikura but didn't correlate the two.

 

I'll look into the odd number evo's.

Probably OG Speeder VC, Atmos, Ventus, Ventus+ is what I would think.  Probably wrong.

Check with @Peoples Golf maybe they have something.  He lists stuff in classifieds like club cleanouts etc.  Fuji is like Titleist clubs - they hold their value and are sought after.  Think Honda in the car market.

Speeder line is still alive and thriving. The speeder NX's are more popular in JP. Ventus is not (in JP). i dunno why.

Correct.  Speeder NX is also wildly popular in Korea as well.  I believe Ventus line isn't as popular because only guys that swing 115+ can handle them(sarcasm).  I think it's more a feel thing or the stiff handles don't appeal to the asian golf population over there.

Mikes golf outlet. They have a bunch new uncut, check their website. Every evo v is dirt cheap. Shaft has been out a while, if you seeing that price you are getting taken for a ride.

The evo 2 661 TS is almost an identical profile to a AD DI 6.  I played one, and still have a few, as an alternative to it.

I ended up with the Fujikura Speeder Evolution V 569, X Flex. We'll see how that fits me.

Evo3 used to be the Only fairway shaft I would use 

outstanding results 

 

evo 6 also I liked - more for driver though

 

rest not so much....

I am into these shafts. Can’t find anything better for my game. I enjoy them so much more than the Ventus line.
 

Have a Speeder TR 757 in a driver (10.5 degree head, so I wanted a low launch shaft), an Evo Speeder VI 757 in a Qi35 3 wood (that combo is money) and an og Speeder 757 (blue shaft) in a 5 wood. They’re all great.

I had a Speeder TR 757 for driver and it's a highly underrated shaft.  Much smoother than any of the Ventus shafts with a subtle kick under the handle.  Should've kept it as a backup.........
