closest club to a thin/small blade that's not a blade?

I went to the PGA superstore and hit the new wilson staff blades and really love love the way they look on the ground.  Just love how small a face it is and how thin it is.  As much as I would love to play a blade though, I don't have the hours to practice to hit them perfect.  I'm curious what the closest non-blade iron is that is thin and small like a blade that people love?

If you're open to JDM clubs and don't mind some stronger lofts, check out the Fourteen TB-5 and TB-7 models. It's a blade designed like a cavity back. They are decently forgiving (certainly moreso than a blade but less than say a player's distance iron) and look and feel fantastic.

Third to say play the Wilson MBs if you really like them. They're really not any more difficult to play than most CBs including many listed above.

I would say just get the Wilson Staff blades.  There's a considerable amount of evidence (here on WRX) that they are far more friendly than the reputation.

Verily. Testing showed the CBs and blades are pretty much equal in the forgiveness department as well. Can go either way or a combo set if that's more someone's speed.

If you like the Wilson Staff blades but want something more forgiving, seems like the Wilson Staff CBs are the obvious choice.

On paper you'd think so but you're really not gaining much if any forgiveness with the CB. AskGolfNut and the video above found this to be the case. Anecdotally I've seen the same. It's not that the CB is unforgiving, it's that the MB is relatively playable because of a slightly longer than average length (visually looks longer than the CB) as well as having some weight shifted from the hosel to the toe for stability. There is a shaping difference and the CB has a thicker sole. Personally I would choose between the two based on the sole you prefer, or whichever you just feel more comfortable looking down at.

So, no one is suggesting the Cobra LIMIT3D/3DP? Hollow head with solid feel. A blade with large tungsten heel/toe weighting. C'mon, somebody should have jumped on that. It's a GIB (Game Improvement Blade)

In comparison the wilson cb is third the price for same level of forgivness and smaller blade length.

T100 are a fine choice, that's what's in my bag, but my set of 620 CBs are smaller.  Because they were purposely designed to blend with 620 MB heads, you could say they are blade-like.  Specs are mostly the same, except toe to heel, blades are progressively long and a tad bit larger than the 620 blades.  Actually, 620 CBs are more forgiving than 620 MB but not as forgiving as T100.

Agreed on TS4s, they are blades that are not really blades..... really forgiving for what they look like.

As far as "real" blades go, I had a set of Srixon 945s several years ago, got them used around 2019, shocked how forgiving they were for a blade.  Looked and felt great too.....

If you love the way the Wilson’s look…get the MB or CB in Wilson. Not another iron that looks like the Wilson blade. Its a unique shape compared to the other manufacturers. They’re as good as anything else out there

Cobras also have a much thicker top line and sole compared to either of the Staff Models and OP asked for thin.

Agreed.

the cobra 3dp is a p790 for the person that still thinks the p790 is the same club from 2019 and has a stigma attached to it

Maltby TS4. A blade that doesn't play like a blade. A little longer heel to toe, but shorter blade height. Low CG due to shorter hosel, and tungsten in the toe for forgiveness. Maltby classifies it as a super game improvement iron. Really clean look, too.

They look great 🤩

what is that finish? They look dark, but not DBM black 🤔

As far as a blade adjacent club for the OP.  I know it’s more of a hollow body type club, but there is none in that category that will be as compact and blade looking as the Ping i59 with more traditional lofts.  They weren’t a big seller for Ping due to hefty price tag and the Ping i230 stealing its thunder, but they are great looking, great feeling and reasonably priced online
