Help with a PING order

Has anyone successfully ordered i230, BPS or BPT with the AWT 3.0 shaft? One guy at PING said yes, one said no, retailers have said no.

Obviously the 3.0 is in the fitting cart and fits the BPS/T but the 2.0 isn't at least in MA.

I like the 3.0 in the BPS better than the 2.0 in the i230.

I have the AWT 2.0 in my i230 and was thinking that if I order a set maybe I can get the 3.0. Ping says Yes no problem. Call Carls Golfland they can help you.

This isn't going to help much but Ping has the most confusing fitting cart, pairing specific steel shafts with certain heads. I can get behind having some premium options only for Blueprint, for example, but for awhile there was stipulations like PX I/O was only for i525 and PX LS was only for Blueprint/i59. Why? I can understand costs could be higher because they bought a smaller batch of them but surely that could be overwritten if you ordered a bunch of I/O and LS with the intention of putting it in every head you sell. It's equally baffling when the retail cost is <$5 between the LZ (which they offered for free in all heads at that time) and the I/O and LS. That would mean the wholesale cost is probably exactly the same, at worst $1 more.

There isn't much difference between the 2.0 and 3.0 shafts. I think the 3.0 is separated by 3 grams between each shaft. Still, 2.0 or 3.0 they're both great Nippon shafts. Titleist has the Nippon 880 AMC Chrome which is my favorite shaft.

I have AWT 3.0s in my i230/Blueprint S combo set ordered this spring so yes it's possible to do.

Just a follow up, I went into the Ping ordering system to verify that I hadn't gotten a special treatment as a staffer and I was able to choose the AWT 3.0 by selecting "Ping Premium" in the Shaft Group drop down. It also didn't change the price vs the AWT 2.0 shafts.

I worked at a major golf retailer and it wasn't in our dropdown menu. A lot of retailers don't have it on their site either.

This is good to know, I can proceed with the BPS!

I can't pinpoint it exactly. Maybe the only difference is the weight? I only hit the 3.0 in the BPS and like the numbers I got. I can't try the 2.0 for an apples to apples comparison.

Plus I like the graphics of the 3.0 even though you can't see them at address.
